We went to Lakewood Landing the other day with a group of friends (all clearly in our 30s and 40s), and had a really disappointing experience with one of the staff members — a short, bald bartender.
He asked my sister and me for ID. I had mine, but my sister (32) had left hers in the car. I told her to go grab it and come right back — no problem. Instead of simply waiting, he took our drinks in front of us and dumped them out, saying we couldn’t be on the premises without ID. I tried to deescalate the situation and told him it was fine — she was getting it.
When she returned with her ID, he snatched it out of her hand, looked at it, and tossed it back at her with visible irritation. When she calmly said something about the way he handled it, he responded with, “You don’t have to be an expletive.” When she asked him not to speak to her that way, he said he wouldn’t be serving either of us.
The whole interaction escalated unnecessarily and felt hostile from the start. We were part of a larger group, all obviously overage, and there was no reason for the situation to be handled with that level of aggression. I can’t say for certain what motivated the behavior, but it felt targeted and deeply uncomfortable.
The bar itself seems like a cool neighborhood spot, which makes it even more unfortunate. But this was one of the nastiest service experiences I’ve had in Dallas, and we won’t be returning. We ended up going to Cosmo’s around the corner and had a great time there instead.
If this person is not the owner, management should seriously address how customers are being treated. No one deserves to be spoken to or handled that way.

Definitely a local dive bar. Small place and dark. We went there because we read the burgers were amongst the best in Dallas. We disagree with that. The burger wasn’t bad, better than sonic, but definitely nothing special. If I lived around there I might visit to have a beer, as the customers seemed to know each other. Place was crowded, and we barely squeezed in to find a seat. The customers were friendly, the burger just meh.

The oddest experience ever. Bartender threw our credit card at us (landed on the bar top, but it was aggressive) after we ordered. She judged us HEAVY for our drink of choice. Totally get that it’s a dive bar and that comes with a gritty nature, but asking for a drink menu shouldn’t be scoffed at. Bartender kept telling me this is Texas and this place is an establishment etc., felt odd as a person of color hearing her claims.

Never going back to this place. While I hadn’t visited the place before, it happened that I visited it twice in a two-week period. The first time there was a very rude almost aggressive female bartender, me and a fellow guest, who I just met, nicknamed her Violence… and yesterday there was a male bartender who was so extremely rude, and he may be the same one as referred to in other reviews, but he should be fired. He is shorter and has a clear Napoleon complex. My friend who had forgotten her ID, was rudely kicked out the establishment, but as some of our friends had already a drink, she decided to get her ID. When she returned after 20 minutes, she held up her ID and made a joking remark. The bartender still refused to serve my friend and kicked her out again. This was absolutely unnecessary and unacceptable. I’m hesitant to add this, but I agree with one of the other posts, the incident may have been racially motivated, my friend is black. I noticed that the place had received some awards as best dive bar, these should be revoked immediately.

Short bald guy is a downer every time I have to interact with him. Most recently he made me grab my friend to show both of our IDs so I could buy us some beer, soon as my buddy walks over he goes “oh you’re good” and barely looks at his ID. He loves to power trip and somehow still has a job after multiple complaints about his behavior. Just go to Cosmo’s.

The bar itself is a classic dive, but the service is genuinely unkind and rude. I went in with a small group, and each person was individually shocked at their interactions. This was beyond a funny, casual rude dive bartender. For example, instead of just adding two lemons to the drinks she forgot them in, she made our friend wait in line again behind eight people.

Super chill little bar with a great little menu. Outdoor seating available. Parking is a bit condensed but is workable. We had the landing burger with ghost pepper cheese!
A Stella brew and a Budweiser brew was we had for choices but other selections are available!

Bartender was such a Debby downer. Granted it was Christmas Eve and I understand being at work during that time. But holy cow, such a rude attitude, I wouldve tip more if they were even remotely nice, but not no, maybe next year 🙂
