In 2010, I had a Steak so good I would compare all other Steaks to that one. After visiting the Lake View Restaurant, all other Steaks will be compared the T-Bone in BBQ sauce i enjoyed here. I tip my hat to the farmer who raised that cow and chef who cooked it. The menu was well priced and in my opinion our meals were very good value for money. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the view. The waitress and Restaurant manager were exceptionally friendly. Next time we stay in Sedgefield we’ll give this hotel a try.

Honestly we had put somewhere else on GPS and my friend put navigation on with lake View Restaurant as the destination. And we do not regret what he did.
There is plenty of safe on premises parking, spacious seating area and very friendly staff. The menu is also good and when we ordered something that was only for weekends, the management was courteous enough to make adjustments for us in order to accommodate our request.
The lake view is really nice and the garden down stairs has things to keep the little ones occupied too.

Professional Server, Unacceptable Management Behaviour.
I ordered a mussel dish and noticed that two of the mussels were closed. As a basic food safety rule, closed mussels should not be served, so I raised this politely with the staff.
Our server handled the situation professionally and calmly, and at that point I was happy to let the matter go. Unfortunately, the experience changed completely when the general manager’s wife came over and involved herself.
She was rude, loud, and spoke to us in a lecturing and dismissive manner, insisting that closed mussels were “fine”. There was no apology, no attempt to resolve the issue properly, and her tone was inappropriate for someone dealing with customers. She appeared to be acting as the person in charge, yet behaved far less professionally than the actual serving staff.
This situation did not need to escalate. A simple apology and replacement would have resolved it immediately. Instead, her attitude turned a minor issue into an unpleasant experience. Someone who speaks to customers in that way should not be dealing with the public. Unfortunately, I would not return. I was also charged for a cappuccino that was not served!
