Our server was friendly. We were a group of 6 for Friday fish fry. We were informed that 3 groups of 6 arrived within minutes of each other and that’s why there was a 35 to 40 minute wait for our food to arrive. Some of the guest, had eaten there before and assured me that this was not typical service. I am willing to give them another shot.

I tried to like it but just could not. Chicken Carbonara came out ice cold but could not find it in my heart to send it back like the guy next to me. I suspect it’s a great place in the summer on their patio having drinks with friends. If you do order food here, maybe stick to the basics on the menu.

It’s an ok dive bar. Prices are a bit high for what you get and quality. Considering it’s location it’ll work in a pinch. If you need to increase your blood pressure I’d encourage you to get the pretzels with salt dip, I mean beer cheese.

A friend and I drove 3 hours to try this place out…. and it was well worth it. Out in the middle of no where (compared to life in Chicago), the Lake Road Inn has that nostalgic supper club feel I have known from the U.P. of MI mixed with a tropical Key West vibe on the patio where you are surrounded with tropical plants, a koi pond and some of the friendliest people you can meet.
What truly blew us away was the quality of food we encountered! We started with a Shrimp Ceviche that was so fresh and amazingly seasoned. This was followed by Irish Nachos, a suggestion by our amazing waiter Jeff! Deliscious! Main course? A NY strip that was so perfectly cooked I would have sworn it came from a steakhouse in Downtown Chicago. Amazingly prepared with smashed potatoes and green beans. The entire dish could not have been more expertly prepared and seasoned!
If you spend any time in Bloomington/Normal you need to take the time to hit The Lake Road Inn. You will not be let down. Say hello to Craig and Dom, they’ll make your stay at the Inn! Great people serving great food at a hometown place! Do yourself a favor and give it a try.

The Ribeye dinner was seriously the best meal I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. The atmosphere was great too—loved sitting out on the garden patio with all the plants. Just a really nice place all around. Highly recommend!

This is my new favorite restaurant! The service was fast, the food was delicious (the best Shrimp Po’ Boy and Sweet Potato Fries I’ve ever had!), and the atmosphere was wonderful. The patio area had a mural, pond, and palm trees, and it felt like we were on vacation. Can’t wait to go back!

Now the only bar and grill at Lake Bloomington. They have a great outdoor beer garden with lots of tropical plants. Your table feels like a secluded island paradise. This is a bar and grill with good burgers, wings, salads and more. Popular place to hang out after a day on the lake.

The service was absolutely amazing! We sat out in the gorgeous patio and our server continually checked on us and came to chat. The food is fantastic and the drinks are even better! Would highly recommend as a place to relax, eat and drink with friends!
