Lake & Irving is a culinary-focused neighborhood restaurant in Uptown Minneapolis. Chris Ikeda and the rest of the L&I team strive to create an atmosphere that is casual but classy, serving food that is approachable but interesting. Many of our food and drink offerings are recognizable American classics, but every item on the menu is expertly crafted using cuisines and techniques from all over the world. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing weeknight cocktail, an inspiring three-course dinner, or a cozy, intimate space for a private event, we look forward to providing you with excellent food & drink, a comfortable atmosphere, and outstanding hospitality. We are open seven days a week for dinner, and Friday-Sunday for lunch & brunch.

A wonderful surprise after discovering the restaurant we planned to visit had closed! Lake & Irving turned out to be an excellent find.
The staff was warm and welcoming, the service was quick, and the food was truly delicious. I loved the eggs Benedict, and my wife thoroughly enjoyed the crispy and flavorful chicken and waffles.
They also offer a great selection of craft beers, which paired perfectly with our Sunday brunch. Overall, a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience—we’re glad we found this spot!

Shout out to Gerald he was a great server he took great care of us when we visited.
The chicken sandwich was delicious I got the ghost cheese so it had a wonderful kick of spice. I’d skip the side salad next time. Truffle fries were good. Perfectly crispy and hot. I also really enjoyed the charred green beans. My husband said his Luxe burger was cooked well and very juicy. The jungle bird was delicious, I’d definitely get it again.
This spot is pretty solid with the food, the service and the music!

I went with some friends for restaurant week and it was our first time. I was told to get the burger but decided to order off restaurant week options. Was highly disappointed in the main course. It was one of the worst cooked pork chops I’ve had out in a very long time. It was so dry and bland. Even the fried rice was bland. 3 out of the 4 people ordered it and it was all the same bland overcooked food. They gave us 3 dollars off but that’s still ridiculous. My one friend ate about half and said it wasn’t worth it. The cocktails were amazing and the apps were a little better. Dessert was ok. Disappointing experience overall. Not sure if we will go back.

We sat out on the patio and it was great! Our server Emily was terrific. She had great suggestions and was very helpful when we had questions or when we were confused on anything on the menu. All the staff were great, super friendly and clearly liked being there.
The food was great. I was a bit skeptical of the aioli that came with the hanger steak at first but it was delicious. I should have just trusted the menu. It was great.
My friend got a make your own and did fried rice, ahi, and pork belly and it was so good. So many great flavors going on.
This has been on my list to get to and I’m so glad I finally went. It was great and I hope to be back to try something new.

I went in for a quick bite after church. This place blew me away- in a good way. This place is kind of upscale. They have delicious brunch options, and for the water they bring to you, you can get normal or “bubbly.” Yes they offer carbonated water, and it’s awesome. The staff went above and beyond. I forget my server’s name, but she was very friendly and professional. When I mispronounced the menu item I ordered, I was supposedly very close to pronouncing it correctly! I HIGHLY recommend this place. It’s very reasonably priced. There are tons of options. I’m not a drinker, but their bar looked very good, as well.

First time here and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The place has a nice atmosphere and a great staff, but the food stole the show. We did the Buttermilk Chicken sandwich and the brisket sandwich. The Buttermilk Chicken has some hype for good reason, but I think the brisket sandwich was possibly the better of the two. Both were great and we’ll be back soon to try some other menu items.

We are from Phoenix, in town for a convention and stopped here for dinner tonight. Service was great ( shout out Ben ) and the cochinita sandwich was 10/10. Seriously so dang good. Highly recommend. All of our meals were very good.

I came here for lunch last Friday to introduce my teenage son to one of my favorite burgers in the city. He really enjoyed the regular cheeseburger and I had the Luxe burger. Always phenomenal. The hot fries are aggressively spicy, which I love; hard to find restaurants willing to put actual spicy food on the menu.
