What an adorable restaurant! My friend and I were first time visitors and pleasantly surprised. It is small, but not crowded with plenty of space between tables. The staff is so friendly! It’s definitely a team effort, the jovial cook even came out to say hello and run some orders as they got busy. The food was very good. This is a hidden gem and we will definitely be back!!

My husband and I have lived in Palmer lake for 15 years. We love our community and tried Lake and Lantern for the first time last week. Wow! We were so impressed with the dramatic improvement on the inside. Such a warm, modern and inviting environment. But even more impressive was their new menu. It’s affordably priced and the food is wonderful. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who has lived in the surrounding area for many years as well. We applaud Raquel and her staff for making every visit so enjoyable. We now make it a weekly routine for breakfast and lunch. Don’t take our word, try it for yourself. While I miss the old Speed Trap, and it’s authentic but shabby vibe, the new owner has done a great job creating a clean comfortable space with a quality offering. The menu feels a bit more traditional than The Speed Trap, but the execution is superb. The food is great and the staff seems very dedicated to making it work. I’ll be back soon.

We really enjoy the Lake and Lantern Cafe. We love the wedge salad and the ham and swiss sandwich. The cafe has a cute atmosphere and the staff is extremely friendly. Our family loves coming to this Cafe and you will too!

The only waitress working there claimed they were short-staffed that day due to unforeseen reasons, consequently, service was pretty slow but friendly. Nonetheless. I ordered the breakfast burrito, I would call it solidly average with a side of their chili which was also coffee was the best part of their menu.

Lake and Lantern in Palmer Lake, CO is worth a gentle glide into and stop for provisions. I had the pleasure of meeting Racquel this morning as I bee-lined into Lake and Lantern for a Cortado by the delightful barista, Kelsea, who has a great memory of my espresso drink of choice (for now) – even after only dropping in a handful of times since June this year – very impressive! With much gratitude and thanks, on this 10th of October – I have no doubt other fortunate travelers will take a moment for themselves to breathe, and find you! ✨️ ✨️

Service was super slow. I understand they only had one server, however we were then charged for two cinnamon rolls for the price of one and were told we’d get a discount for a burger that had only one patty instead of two, but that was not the case.
