The dining room is comfortable with good ambience, and the $55 Winterlicious dinner offered very good quality for the price. Everything was well executed and satisfying.
I’d especially like to give a 5-star shoutout to our server, Shawn. His attentive and thoughtful service truly elevated our overall dining experience and left us with a very positive impression of the restaurant’s management and service standards. This has definitely become one of the restaurants I would recommend to friends when dining in the area.
Winterlicious $55 dinner , our picks:
— Prime Rib Soup – rich & flavorful
— Mezze Plate – recommended if you like hummus, naan was warm and fragrant, hummus was well seasoned
— Prime Rib – ordered medium rare, came out with a beautiful pink center. We were pleasantly surprised by the horseradish served on the side, sharpe, spicy and very awakening. We liked it so that Shawn even brought us a small cup to take home. We really appreciated.
— Truffle Mushroom Risotto – was very well done, loved it.
the server brought us the wrong dessert at first, but Shawn quickly brought us the correct order, and in the end we’ve got to try all three of them.
— Affogato – my favorite dessert ( least sweet )
— Chocolate Orange Pot de Creme – thick chocolate mousse top with cream and with a piece of dried orange ( medium sweet ), it was surprisingly good
— Creme Brulee – sweet
We ordered from the Winterlicious menu and got the Prime Rib Soup and Mini Mezza Plate. The soup was delicious and we really enjoyed the Mezza plate, but we felt it could have used twice as many naan slices to fit with the amount of hummus we had.
For entrees we ordered Slow Cooked Prime Rib and Sirloin Neptune. The prime rib was tender and delicious, and the sirloin was also great. I was a bit disappointed with the seafood, as the crab, scallop, and shrimp were all mixed together in small pieces so I couldn’t appreciate the individual flavours.
For dessert we had a Creme Brulee and Affogato. The Creme Brulee was decent but we really enjoyed the Affogato. The complementary Pineapple Upside Down Cake was amazing and I’d certainly order it next time we’re here. Thanks again to Shawn for making our experience here so great!
The Valentine’s set menu was an excellent value — it included a drink, appetizer, main, and dessert, and the overall quality was very satisfying for the price. We also added a filet mignon à la carte, and the steak was perfectly cooked and high quality.
The prime rib was especially impressive — cooked exactly medium rare, tender, juicy, and very flavorful.
Our server, Shawn, was friendly and helpful with recommendations throughout the meal. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a proper steakhouse meal near the airport.
Hosts at the entrance were good even wished me a happy birthday too bad they and the waiter didn’t communicate well, as so many people got a sparkle candle with their , no for me . They also offered us which side we would rather seat if on the TV higher seats side or more in the nicer and quiet side which also was very thoughtful of them.
As complementary first time visitors we got a tuna appetizer, tasted ok.Tuna tasted fresh, nice touch.
Mains dishes were disappointed because the quality of the beef was not what I expected. The Keg offers much better beef quality. My sirloin was hard and had a lot of fat fibers inside. Sea food were tiny pieces.
Beet Salad was good (5*), my husband soup was ok.
Creme brulee was good (5*), and the chocolate orange pot creme was ok.
Sangria was good but definitely not sparkly.
Americano was good.
Services was fast at the beginning, but the main dishes took a while and were in the warm side.
For a Monday they were really busy.
This was the Etoicoke location.
Free parking.
Service was a little unattentive as there was a reaaaaally huge group, 30+.
Would come back if in the area, qould not go out of my way to come though.
Forgot to take a picture of the steak soup which was lookwarm.
The steak term was done to perfection.
Skip the lobster tail, would not recommend. Nothing special.
The creme brule was great!
For mains, two of us enjoyed the Chop Burger (100% Canadian fresh ground chuck & brisket, crispy bacon, aged white cheddar, and pickled red onions on a toasted brioche bun), one with French fries and one with a Caesar salad. Another had the ½ rack of Baby Back Ribs, perfectly glazed and served with fries and seasonal vegetables. I ordered the 7oz Top Sirloin rare, cooked exactly to temperature, and our youngest loved the chicken wings with fries.
A BIG shout-out to our server, Preston, who kept everything running smoothly despite the restaurant being absolutely slammed on a busy Friday night. She was attentive, professional, and on top of every detail. One of the managers also surprised us with a complimentary Tuna Tartare amuse bouche, which was divine and such a thoughtful touch for our first visit.
The front-of-house team maintained excellent awareness and ensured every guest was well taken care of, and kudos to the kitchen, chefs, and staff—every dish was spot-on.
Highly recommend Chop Steakhouse & Bar for a fantastic dining experience. Bravo!
