Amazing service and food! Vince was great, he walked us through the entire menu and made sure we enjoyed our evening. The salmon was perfect, reminded me of when i was in France! My wife had chicken and i was quite impressed with her meal as well. We ended up with 2 bottles of wine and a cheesecake to end the meal… 10/10 would recommend!

Best restaurant in NW Suburbs!

Have been here multiple times, never disappointed. Fabio has put together a top notch destination.

Our latest visit was to sample the happy hour menu, which is an excellent addition. Meatballs are still a must have, even the burger is top notch.

Service was outstanding, Lexi couldn’t have been more engaging and attentive.

Valet makes parking a breeze, all the staff is clearly focused on their customers.

A terrific night out, will be back again (and again).

From the moment we arrived, everything was an 11/10. NO NOTES – our experience was beyond perfect.

Service: Standout service at every level. Our server, Mike, was extremely personable, attentive, and made excellent recommendations. I took his recommendations for drinks and entree, and he brought us a random dessert, and everything was *chef’s kiss*. He recommended a beer that we had never heard of (Ducato), as well, and we ended up order two, because it was very good. The hostess, manager/front of house, and food runner who served us were also notably friendly and professional. We were blown away by the quality of the service from the moment the valets opened the door for us to the moment we walked out the door.

Food & Cocktails:
Tableside caprese – my favorite dish of the night. It’s a really fun experience AND delicious and fresh. Our mozzarella was still a little warm when we ate it and it was so good. The rolls were SO fluffy. Had kind of a smoked flavor to them, which was unexpected.

Lavender 75 cocktail – delicious. I would say this is one of my favorite takes on a French 75 that I’ve tried. Served with ice.

Cranberry old fashioned – really great and we loved the branded ice.

King salmon – it was a very large piece of salmon and it was served skin side up and was perfectly cooked. I loved it.

Shrimp scampi – I don’t eat seafood but my partner got this and said it was great. Served with the heads on. Very flavorful.

A Star Was Born cocktail – my favorite cocktail of the night. Dangerously good, I would say. It’s vanilla-y and sweet but not too sweet.

Tiramisu – good but this is the only part of the meal that wasn’t 11/10. I would give this an 8/10. The coffee flavor tended to be at the bottom of the deep dish it was served in, so certain bites were a bit milky/bland to me. Still a very decent tiramisu,

Fudgy fruity chocolate tart thing – chocolatey amazing mess with fruit on top. I wasn’t hungry by dessert but I couldn’t stop eating this.

Vibe: very cool, feels like you’re in the city. Perfect noise level – loud enough to feel vibrant, but not so loud you can’t talk.

I recently visited this restaurant, but unfortunately, the experience wasn’t the best.
I do want to mention that both the manager and our server were outstanding — very kind, professional, and truly tried to make things right.

The first issue was parking. When we arrived, all the spots were taken, even though several were blocked off with cones. The parking attendant told us to park across the street near Life Time, which was a bit inconvenient.

There were three of us, and we were seated at a very small table. It was clearly too tight for our order, and when we asked to move, the administration said no — even though the restaurant wasn’t full. Thankfully, our server later helped us switch tables, and we really appreciated that.

As for the food — prices are on the higher side, but the quality didn’t match. The bruschetta was dry and flavorless. I ordered seafood pasta, and it was disappointing — the red sauce was too sour, and the pasta itself tasted undercooked (or maybe overcooked). It didn’t seem like true homemade pasta, as they claimed.

The place does have a nice atmosphere and lovely interior, but sadly, the food just wasn’t good, and it ruined the evening a bit.

Still, I really appreciate how the manager and server handled everything — he apologized, removed the main dishes from our bill, and even offered help with the parking situation. That level of service deserves recognition.

Lago in Lake Zurich is such a gem! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a great bar area that feels lively yet comfortable, and cozy booth seating that makes dining both relaxed and intimate. It’s the kind of place where you can enjoy a casual evening or celebrate a special occasion and feel equally at home.

We shared a few appetizers and every dish was excellent. The grilled octopus was tender and flavorful, the ricotta bruschetta was fresh and creamy, and the Lago salad was my absolute favorite — light, crisp, and perfectly balanced. Everything was beautifully prepared and full of flavor.

On top of that, the service was attentive and friendly without being overbearing, which really added to the experience. Between the welcoming vibe, great menu, and thoughtful staff, Lago is definitely a restaurant I’ll be returning to and recommending often!

Nice atmosphere, but the experience was disappointing. The restaurant was very loud, the steak came out burnt and had to be replaced. The Caesar salad was mostly tough lettuce stems instead of proper leaves. Overall expected better quality.

The tableside Caprese at LAGO was unreal. I genuinely can’t stop thinking about it. Everything was so fresh and perfectly balanced, and the tableside experience just made it feel that much more special.

It’s simple, but done so well that it completely stands out. If you go, you have to order it.

My husband and I went to Lago for our 15th wedding anniversary. From the moment we walked in the door, it was AMAZING. Our server was Lexi. She greeted us with a smile and a “Happy Anniversary” card that was signed by the entire staff! She was fun, knowledgeable and attentive (not hovering). The food was simply wonderful, from appetizers to dessert. We will most definitely be back!!

I really wanted to join the good reviews, but unfortunately, this place left a different impression.
The first issue was the parking. Restaurants of this level usually provide their own parking, but when we arrived, there were a bunch of orange cones, and the parking attendant told us to park near Life Time across the street. I hoped the food would make up for it since the prices suggested high quality — but it didn’t.
The pasta I ordered was undercooked and hard. I had it with lobster, but it was difficult to mix because there were pieces of shell in it — one almost got stuck in my throat. My friends had the same problem: their pasta was hard and flavorless.
On the positive side, the staff was very nice — the waitress was kind and attentive, and a gentleman at a nearby table even helped us by shining light for our photos. And manager really nice person, he try to make our experience better and take off some food from our bill.
Still, my honest advice: choose another place and save your money, nerves, and mood.

We had an absolutely wonderful first dining experience at Lago in Lake Zurich. Our server, James M., was wonderfully attentive and truly went above and beyond to make our evening special. We were delighted by the tableside preparation of the caprese salad, which was fresh and absolutely amazing.
For our main courses, we had three steaks and a fish entrée, and each was cooked beautifully and tasted delicious. The quality of the food and the skill in its preparation were evident in every bite.
This was our first time here, but it certainly won’t be our last. We highly recommend Lago for anyone looking for a fantastic meal and exceptional service
