The proportions were bigger than I remembered… I couldn’t finish them. I will definitely come back.
However, the seat arrangement wasn’t as good. The distance between tables were too close, somehow I felt the bar seats were better.
And the coffee had no cream no sure how they did it from a coffee machine. The coffee bean was a good selection though.
The service is above and beyond! The manager Mr. Edmund Leung and our waiter Mr. Sherman Lai are courteous, pleasant, and enthusiastic in assisting us!
We highly recommend L’Affection and will definitely come back again!
The first thing you notice is the incredible selection. They have a massive collection of flours from all over the world, it is literally wall-to-wall options. They stock absolutely everything you need to do professional-grade baking.
Why we visited:
We came specifically looking for specialty flours to make ciabatta and banh mi bread. The variety was so good that we ended up selecting a specific French bread flour to try and bake the perfect baguettes.
Pro Tip:
I came here with a friend who is a professional baker, and he was in heaven. He told me that Laffection is the real deal—specifically mentioning that they have the best mills and flour blends if you are into making sourdough.
If you want to upgrade your baking game, this is the place to shop. Highly recommended!
The nailed the freshly baked bread and butter, and the fish was perfectly cooked. The portions were generous and prices are fair. There were many tables celebrating birthdays and special occasions, hence it’s always a good idea to make reservations ahead of time.
Here for business lunch.
Menu introduction – poorly organized, and low awareness (2 to 3 waiters were introducing at the same time to different tables.)
Complimentary bread – the only star of the meal (crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside). Unfortunately, it was ruined by the “President” butter.
Starter – tasty escargot, but slightly overcooked
Soup – tasty onion soup with cheese fillings on top, but poorly presented
Lamb – just right on the texture (luckily I ordered: medium rare)
Dessert – poor selections for the cheese platter
Coffee – taste similar to the convenient store served coffee
Atmosphere – simple and bright
Service – friendly, but not welcome
Overall – recommend to the people who would prove me wrong.
