The restaurant offers a superb atmosphere, with sublime food and attentive service. I particularly loved their music selection—a perfect mix of R&B, golden-era rap, and plenty of Drake—which had me going absolutely crazy in the best way.
The only minor downside was that, despite mentioning it was my anniversary, we were seated at a small, tucked-away table for two, which became a bit cramped once the dishes arrived.
That said, this is a place I will definitely return to. The experience is worth every moment, from the food to the vibe.
We visited on a special occasion — my birthday — which I clearly mentioned during the reservation, along with a request for a nicely arranged table. Unfortunately, this didn’t really translate into a particularly attentive or thoughtful experience.
The first impression was disappointing. The hostess who greeted us appeared noticeably disengaged, leaning on the counter and showing little interest in welcoming or interacting with guests. There was no sense of warmth or attentiveness, which felt surprising for a restaurant positioning itself at this level.
The food was a mix.
The carpaccio with artichokes was excellent — fresh, well-balanced and definitely something I would recommend. My Caesar salad was fine, quite standard, nothing memorable. The steak, however, was disappointing: rather chewy and not what you would expect at this price point. We politely mentioned this to the staff, but it didn’t really lead to any follow-up.
Service throughout the evening felt inconsistent. At times the staff was attentive, at other moments we were left waiting. A small complimentary dish was brought to the table, but before we had the chance to finish it, it was simply taken away without any explanation, which felt odd.
Another confusing moment came at dessert. We ordered one dessert for my partner and a glass of wine for me. The dessert was then presented as a “birthday gesture” with a candle — although it was clearly the dessert we had ordered. In the end, it was fully charged in the bill, which made the “compliment” feel misleading rather than generous.
Music choice also felt slightly out of place for such an elegant interior, although it wasn’t a major issue.
Overall, while the place is undeniably beautiful and some dishes are very good, the experience felt overpriced and lacking in coherence — especially considering the expectations set by the setting and prices. A lovely interior alone is unfortunately not enough to justify the overall experience
The venue is ultra-elegant, successfully combining timeless Parisian style with modern music. The bartender was extremely kind and professional, and special thanks to the restaurant manager, who was courteous, attentive, and highly professional throughout the evening.
One note for improvement: the otherwise well-trained waiter seemed overly insistent in pushing higher-priced dishes and premium drinks toward us, which slightly disrupted an otherwise refined experience. A more guest-focused, intuitive approach would elevate the service to a flawless level.
Overall, it was nearly perfect, and with this small adjustment, the restaurant would easily deserve five stars.
Service is way too bad. Had to wait for 30 min for the water, tables is not being cleaned and orders are mixed up
The interior is amazing, looks so good but we totally didn’t get the music choice. It felt like a night club in Harlem. (Not against this type of music but it is not aligning with the restaurant vibe)
On the way out the host asked if I enjoyed my birthday and I told her it was the worst experience. She offered a drink when she realised that they did not even bring out the birthday cake and candle but I refused as we had already ordered transport to head back to Chantilly.
PLEASE DO NOT BOOK THIS RESTAURANT! the service is so bad they make mc Donald’s look better. Paris has some amazing culinary gems & restaurants but Lafayette’s is definitely not one. Please don’t waste your time and money.
Told me and my friends to wait, then proceeded to be angry, when we asked questions.
Said he couldn’t deal with the “energy” what the hell is that?
What is this joke? I respect everyone in their workplace, as long is reciprocal (which it wasn’t the case) fake niceness, to extreme defensive responses, when we simply wanted to understand what is going on, is simply pathetic.
We were all well dressed, we aren’t losers who don’t know how to present themselves. Not ugly either (if that is even a reason to refuse someone) never seen such disrespect from a place in my life. This left a bad taste in our mouths, and to be treated like trash, is simply disgusting and unacceptable!
Shame on you front door guy, shame on you Lafayette.
If my credit card is charged, you’ll be absolutely hearing even more from me.
PS* my friends that were with me do the reservation of this dinner, Also made a review here; and guess what? LAFAYETTE DELETED IT!!!!! Shady! Don’t walk, RUN!
Not worth your money. Pathetic of you Lafayette !
