Found this place with my parents over the holidays and we were so happy we did! Food was amazing and drinks were great. Got seated right away but it did fill up fast. And it’s no surprise why! Chips and salsa were hot and fresh. They refilled our chips which is a huge plus. They have a mariachi band every once in a while and we hope to be back for them!

Visiting the area and we found this restaurant. The food was delicious! Chips were warm and salsa was tasty. We ordered the chicken chipotle nachos and they were so good. We also had the smothered burritos and birria tacos which were both delicious. Service was great and we got our food quickly. I highly recommend!

Authentic family owned (Estella): the one and only Mexican restaurant on Longboat Key: next to Harry’s. Easy to get to from AMI, LBK, or Lido Key.
Spacious restaurant with excellent parking.
Friendly and attentive staff. Casual dress.
Appetizers: great chips : two varieties of salsa both made from fresh ingredients: the hot one is very flavorful with an excellent kick.
Next time I will have tamales!
Margarita : tangy, salt rimmed glass , great flavors
Tacos: excellent flavors and not too heavy: black beans moist and great with the Mexican rice
Fajitas: perfect with tasty chicken and a wonderful array of veggies: refried beans and rice were excellent
Highly recommend eating at La Villa . Nice to support a local family owned restaurant on LBK.

We LOVE LaVilla in Longboat Key! The staff is always super friendly and helpful, and the food is always delicious. They use fresh ingredients and everything tastes very authentic. You can ask for spicier salsa and they will bring you some, although I love the original salsa. I do wish they still had the thicker chips still, but I still enjoy the chips they serve!

Bad Mexican food. The fajita came uncooked, and the onion and green pepper were almost raw and not caramelized. The taco asada and chicken had no flavor; the beef and chicken looked like they got boiled in water. The fish tacos were supposed to be grilled, but it came with some unpleasant sauce. Even the rice didn’t taste like rice. Very rare for me not to like Mexican restaurant. I will not recommend anyone to go there, pay double, and eat unpleasant food. The chicken tamale. The corn wasn’t on the grill and came rubbed with wet plain mayonnaise, and none of us could finish a bite. It was just , and they still charge for it even we told them that its not done right.

On a vacation in the area and decided to give it a try since we were in a mood for a Mexican lunch. Did not disappoint! Very good tacos and the elotes (Mexican street corn on the cob) are to die for! Their red salsa is delicious.

The is an amazing spot for authentic Mexican cuisine (try the street corn – you won’t be disappointed). They have free chips and salsa. Prices are a bit high BUT you are getting authentic. mexican. food. on longboat key.
Salsa is really good (hint: ask for the spicy salsa options). Anything and everything is tasty honestly. My folks get the burritos + I get the enchiladas (always great!). Tonight we tried the Chile Riano and smoothed burrito and couldn’t have been more pleased!!
Plus the owner made us feel very welcomed and all the staff was very accommodating 🙂

We had the carnitas tacos and Tamales. And as a huge Mexican food fan, they were at the top of my favorite list. And we tried the new tequila they just got in. Don fulano Blanco. So silky smooth. It’s a must try and we will looking forward to going back. Oh and you have to try the street corn best we’ve ever had!

Hibiscus margarita & shrimp poblano dish! Both delicious. The sauce on the shrimp poblano was to die for. So flavorful! Definitely recommend. If you don’t do shrimp there is also a chicken option.
