Truly delicious mussels, fresh & a good portion. The gratain portion is smaller but more flavorful. We also ordered the grilled giant shrimps which were absolutely delicious. Also the beef stew is excellent and a healthy portion. Good service & friendly environment. Lovely dinner.

If you are in Macinaggio, La Vela d’Oro is a must stop. The seafood is so fresh, portions are huge, preparation is delicious, and the service is wonderful. We were in town for 2 nights in the off-season and dined here both nights, our server Gaelle was excellent and had great recommendations for the menu. We were recommended here by a tour guide and our hotel and I am so glad we took the recommendation, we would happily return!

I guess 500+ Google reviews can’t be wrong, but I was really underwhelmed. The personnel are rude beyond the “they are just French”-thing. I paid 28 euros for a Tuna steak with a bit of rice, which is fine, but then it should be something special. What I got was mostly slightly dry and extremely salty. The sea brass of my dinner partner was not much better. Way too salty and little taste. Would not recommend.

Huge portion of fish soup even for two person (with cheese, garlic and bread with a seasoned butter aside) in the menu for one. The fish and the crabs were amazing. And the dessert didn’t make until the photo I would come back in a minute!

Pretty mediocre. Flavorless mussels. If compared solely with Corsica – it’s fine. Anywhere else – nope. But came recommended by several locals so I think the ceiling is just quite low.

Best service, wines and food in Macinaggio. Number #1 and Book a table ahead and try every fish dish but the beef tagliata is superb and worth while. They also offer (for 42 EUR in 2022) lobster fixed menu! Go there !

Disappointing – first of all the service was nearly non existent. Our plates wouldn’t be cleaned even 20-30min after we finished the dish. Food was not that tasty and we were sat jn the back of the garden with running cats and wild boars…
