Found out about this place from NH chronicle, great local recommendation. Definitely worth watching their little segment. We came the night before Thanksgiving and they had a live band which was really cute. First of all, the drinks were very well crafted, we got the pineapple jalapeño marg and the cadi – not overly sweet and the spicy marg was super fresh. I got the street tacos with steak (pictured) and steak and HOMEMADE tortillas were absolutely delicious. Lots of cilantro and onion so be weary if you’re not into that – I don’t love onion but this wa still very very good. Salsa verde was absolutely terrific. My husband got the chori pollo (chorizo chicken) and that was to die for. No notes. Already told all my friends lol; we will be coming back here.

I recently visited La VAKA Mexican Restaurant in Goffstown, New Hampshire while enjoying a beautiful Halloween weekend in the area, and it was truly a highlight of the trip. The moment we walked in, we were welcomed by the gorgeous folkloric décor that immediately set the tone for an authentic Mexican experience.
We ordered the Jamaica water, and right away were greeted with warm chips and salsa. The salsa was perfect — not too spicy, not too mild, just the right balance.
I decided to try the Huarache Campechano, made with a mix of adobada and carne asada, and oh my lord… it was the best huarache I have ever had. It was topped with a delicious combination of cheese, cream, and cactus, and every bite was incredible.
I also want to highlight our waitress, who was extremely attentive and consistently checked in on us throughout the meal. Her service really elevated the experience.
La VAKA is definitely a must-visit if you’re looking for authentic Mexican food in New Hampshire. I will absolutely be coming back!

Alejandro was an outstanding server! Warm, friendly, and incredibly accommodating. He went above and beyond by taking our family photo in one of the beautifully decorated areas of the restaurant, which meant a lot to us. The food was amazing: hot, flavorful, and clearly prepared with care. We never felt rushed, and the relaxed atmosphere made it the perfect way to enjoy quality family time on a Sunday. Highly recommend!

We have the BEST time at Lavaka. Every Friday we are here as a family, and sometimes with friends and Alexis takes the best care of our table. He is so helpful and always remembers to give my baby some orange slices to hold him over. He also picks him up and brings him sight seeing around the restaurant. I’ve never felt more welcomed at a restaurant in my life. The food is incredible but the people are what make it great.

I brought a friend there. It was my friend’s first and last time. I must admit, I doubt I would go back.
First, the staff plugged in a speaker. About every 30 seconds extremely loud static came over the speaker. The static was so loud EVERYONE in the dinning room stopped talking. I was sitting 4 feet away from my friend – across the table, i couldn’t hear him speaking over the static. We finally just stopped talking when thevstatic came over the speaker. Staff of below average intelligence would notice what was going on and fix it. I had to ask our serve to unplug the speaker. The whole dinning room clapped when the speaker was unplugged!
Next, the server was a ghost. There is a balance between clingy and ignoring your customer. This waiter basically ignored us.
Number next, our app came out. Within minutes the main course came out. The waiter wanted to take our app and half was still there. It is called timing. This waiter didn’t get that.
There was no request to refill our drinks. Water wasn’t even offered!
I don’t like bad mouthing a small business. Maybe the restaurant was having a bad day. Maybe the waiter was new. I don’t know what the excuse is. I went there last May 2025. It was really good. This was like a different restaurant.
But based on this last experience, I would go elsewhere and recommend you do so too.

Love this place! The margaritas are expertly made by people who know flavor and seem to love what they do. My favorite is the margarita flight so you can taste a few different varieties or even compare the taste of different tequilas. The energy of the restaurant is incredible! Musicians are often performing here and it’s just perfect, never is too loud for conversation. If you haven’t tried Sopes before, try them here! The food is incredible and the best that I’ve had in NH. If you want the yummiest foods and drinks with live music and cv lots of smiles, you need to check this place out. You’ll be glad you did!
