La Vaca Tinta: Experience the Best Steak and Lobster in Cabo San …
Reviews
Whatever cut of meat you decide on, they bring you several choices to pick from and cook the piece you chose. We ordered a porterhouse to share (it was ginormous!), a burger, quesadillas, chicken nuggets (for world’s pickiest eater), and lobster. All were delicious! The porterhouse was cooked perfectly! The cook/chef even came out to talk to us. They have a selection of salt you can choose from to have on your board to dip your food in. All the sides were fantastic too. I ordered some grilled vegetables which were cooked perfectly! My daughter is a big burger lover and she demolished it saying how good it was. We didn’t order the lamb, but theirs is imported from New Zealand. I wish my older son would’ve been here with us since lamb is his favorite. The lobster was cooked in a buttery sauce with shallot and was phenomenal.
The staff was super nice and attentive. Since it was our son’s birthday, they brought out a slice of cake with a candle, an honorary cow hat, rang the cow bells and sang to him. It was a fun experience!
The service is slower but it is meant to be that way. This is not a rush in and rush out service. This is a laid back atmosphere where everyone can enjoy each other’s company around wonderful food. It looked like there were several regulars in attendance. This is definitely some place we will return to. So glad we found it!
First off, the service was excellent. Friendly staff, great vibes overall. They brought out a huge selection of meats you can order first so you can see what you’re getting into.
The food was fresh and flavourful. I absolutely loved the different selections, such as the ribs, ribeye, and the bone marrow.
The potatoes were on another level, hands down best potatoes I’ve had in my entire life-and that’s saying a lot because I’ve had a ton of potatoes. They were perfectly seasoned and the sour cream brought a rich flavour to them. Not to mention the bacon was delicious, so crispy and crunchy.
An honourable mention was the melted cheese plate, it was the perfect texture and I loved scraping the cheese from the plate after.
The place is decorated very well, and it has a cute feel. I especially liked the birdhouses on the wall outside.
Highly, highly recommended La Vaca Tinta. The food was a reasonable price as well. If you’re in the Cabo San Lucas area please check it out. I was blown away and I’m sure you’ll be too.
The atmosphere was fantastic. The owner even came by to say hello, and the entire team made me feel genuinely cared for. Truly extraordinary cuisine.
I ended the evening with a limoncello… and honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever eaten this well, with service this warm.
If you’re in Cabo, this spot is an absolute must-try. ✨

I informed the staff clearly that I have celiac disease. I was told they had gluten-free bread. When bread was brought to the table, I specifically confirmed it was gluten-free. I was assured that it was.
After I had eaten some, the server returned to tell me it was not gluten-free.
For someone with celiac disease, this is not a minor inconvenience. This is a serious medical issue. My first night in Mexico turned into a nightmare. I had to leave the table, return to my room, and attempt to limit the damage while my wife and friends stayed behind.
To make matters worse, the food I had ordered prior to being glutened was brought out while I was gone — food I could no longer eat. We told them we were leaving. Friends kindly covered the bill.
On the way out, the owner asked how everything was. When I explained that I was celiac and had just been served gluten after clear confirmation, he said, “I will make it right.”
They did not make it right.
Our friends were charged 100% of the bill — including the meal I could not eat because of their mistake.
Mistakes happen. What matters is how a restaurant responds when they put someone’s health at risk. In this case, there was no accountability and no follow-through.
If you have celiac disease or a serious gluten intolerance, I strongly advise extreme caution.
