Fell in LOVE with this place!! “FRESH” is the word I’d use to describe the food — from the greens to the proteins. It has such a warm, inviting atmosphere. The owner, Thuy, was super nice and truly has a heart for this place + the food she serves to her guests.

The portions were huge and I definitely left feeling super full with leftovers for the next day. I recommend the spring rolls and vermicelli noodles, especially the chicken. I can’t express enough how fresh and light this dish tasted. Highly recommend!!

I recently dined here w a friend & was absolutely, astounded by the incredible flavors incorporated into my dish. We were greeted by a kind & animated hostess, by the name of ‘Twee’ or ‘Thuy’. She’d given hospitality, enthusiasm & professionalism. Super confident & passionate she was, I felt comfortable trusting her w the knowledge she possessed ab the menu & specific cuisines. Adding this restaurant to one of the top places to dine at in downtown St. Pete.

The food was exceptional. I never had Fresh Rolls as delicious as these. The peanut sauce they are served with takes them to another level. I had the Oxtail Pho and it was very good. The broth was very savory. There was plenty of meat on those bones and very tender. I couldn’t eat all the food. Thuy was an excellent host. The service was very attentive: I dropped my chopsticks and the waiter gave me a new pair before I had time to say anything.

Love La V Banh-mi’s !!

We’ve enjoyed eating at La V a few times over the years and we’re especially fond and highly recommend their grilled pork Banh-mi’s.

The last visit was slightly overshadowed with lame service. Hoping by the next visit, the people who do not like their jobs are gone and we get to appreciate the brilliance La V has to offer.

This was my first time trying Vietnamese food, and while I enjoyed the experience, I wouldn’t say the food blew me away. The edamame was probably the standout—it had a nice spice blend that gave it a good kick and made it more interesting than the usual.
The pho beef soup was decent. I liked that I could add extra spices and condiments to adjust the flavor, which definitely helped bring it closer to my liking, but on its own, it wasn’t anything special. The beef and rice plate was filling and fine, but again, nothing that stood out or left a lasting impression.
What I did really enjoy was the boba tea—it was refreshing, flavorful, and probably my favorite part of the meal.
Overall, the food was good, just not great. I’m glad I tried it, but I’m not sure it’s a place I’d rush back to unless I was craving pho or boba.

I have been here twice AND both times were great experiences! I think the food is awesome plus the owner is friendly! Very authentic!
I recommend the vermicelli bowls, fresh spring rolls, the soup, and the fusion fried rice!

Amazing food, portions, and value. We ordered the fresh rolls, lemongrass beef rice dish, and specialty pho. There for lunch, the prices were excellent and the serving size was large. But what would bring us back was the excellent flavors. It was all so so good.

1/2/26: To-Go Dinner
My family took a day trip to Tampa side because we promised the kids to take them to Daiso and fishing at the pier.
I ordered to-go dinner here to take to the pier.

Highlights:
1. Recommended: Stir fry egg noodle with seafood combination (mì xào hải sản thập cẩm): tender calamari and scallops, premium quality shrimp, fresh vegetables, savory sauce
2. Stir fry lemongrass beef with vermicelli rice noodle
3. Tender sliced beef ribs were very saucey and the kids loved it with steamed rice but it does not in anyway has the authentic Korean galbi sauce.
4. Lady host or owner was very friendly.

Cons:
1. Bánh xèo: If bánh xèo is just a bánh xèo, then go for it. But I can never recommend it to my Vietnamese Texas and Cali foodies who prefer a nice crispy thin battered bánh xèo without the extra drenching oil. Mine was literally soaked in oil. I took a few bites, ate the shrimp and lettuce and tossed the rest into the garbage. I am not saying it is bad because what’s trashy food to me often is referred to as “good and delicious” food to others. Oh not to mention the thinly sliced pork belly has at least 60% fat.
2. Shrimp gỏi cuốn is very Americanized here just pretty much like most Vietnamese restaurants in Florida.

I traveled to St. Pete for work and wanted a taste of home. As a Vietnamese person, I was initially skeptical about authenticity however I came back 3 times.

I ordered the bun bo, bun cha, oxtail pho, com ga, shrimp spring rolls, and avocado smoothie. The bun bo and bun cha were my favorites. Vinh even gave me a side of mam ruoc, iykyk. Huyet would’ve been amazing but I totally get it.

I look forward to coming back in the future and would come back for the warm hospitality of Co Thuy and Vinh alone.

Beef oxtail pho was the best in town. Broth was delicious and the oxtails were so tender and juicy. It’s a must if you go to La V. Ambient was inviting and customer service was wonderful. I give it 10/10 overall.
