You are going to give this place a chance do it as a dine in and not as take out. Take out portions look way smaller and not worth the price compared to dine in plate.
We had the 2 meat plate with ribs and brisket and had the elite corn, Mac n cheese and cornbread as sides. Plus an order of the brisket empanadas.
The brisket was a bit dry and had no fat, but the ribs were pretty good and didn’t need bbq sauce.
The cornbread was very dry and flavorless, the alote corn was ok, but not sure why is called “elote corn” since it doesn’t have the mayo sauce or cheese and last the Mac and cheese was creamy and flavorful but they use shell pasta and not traditional macaroni plus the side was so tiny.
Now the brisket empanadas wee delicious, loved How full of meat it was and super flavorful.
Very small place.
Mostly empty on Wednesday at 4PM.
This is not a cheap place to eat.
They must thrive on take out.
Inside, 3 high top tables for 4 each and 1 table for 2.
Some tables outside.
Order at cash register.
The only printed menu is there.
No take home menus. Go to their website.
Ordered a 2 meat plate with 2 sides. $26.00
Brisket, ribs, potato salad and mac & cheese.
2 ribs and 2 slices of brisket.
Sides are in small take out cups.
For the price, they should give 4 ribs.
Food was good but because of the prices
I will not be going back.
I had heard good things about this place so I had to come take a 45 minute drive to check it out. First and foremost, something very concerning I noticed when I walked into this establishment. The Texas flag is UPSIDE DOWN!!! This needs to be fixed. As a Texan it hurts. It also makes me question everything I’m about to eat as being true authentic Texas bbq.
So let’s start with the menu. There is not a lot of Texas bbq on it. It does have brisket, which is #1 and very important. But it is missing things like beef sausage / kielbasa, chopped beef, brisket burnt ends, beef ribs, etc. Theres a lot of pork on the menu which is fine, but not very Texan. So that was a bit of a bummer to see.
The brisket was absolutely fantastic. And has the flavor profile, bark, and tenderness of true brisket from central Texas. It was very good and I can’t wait for more of it. You know it’s good brisket if you don’t need sauce with it and this doesn’t need it.
The brisket empanadas were also fantastic. Perfect crunch. Not soggy. And the brisket was just as good as it was by itself.
The bbq sauce that comes on this side should be for pork only. It’s not a beef friendly sauce. It’s thick and tangy. Kind of a Carolina sauce.
The sides were mediocre. I’m not sure what is going on with the baked beans. Tastes like out of a bean can from the store mixed with cinnamon. Very strange and does not go well with the dish. I thought the Mac and cheese was also over salted. The elote was very good!
Traditionally, Texas bbq is pulled from a pit right in front of you and cut on a butcher block and weighed right there. Here you order and it comes to your table. Nothing wrong with that it’s just different. I will most certainly come back, please fix the flag asap and add more beef to the menu!
*edited my review and moved it up to 4 stars. Nice to see an owner reply. Thanks for the flag fix 🙂
Can’t wait to come back.
Some of them were pre made, so easy to grab before work etc. I’m happy to have come here and tried it. The eggs were not tried out. Tortillas yummy.
Will definitely be returning!
