I go to La Terraza for variety. The menu has really good Mexican dishes AND it has Italian dishes. My last visit was to satisfy a craving for Italian.
Starting with the chicken peccata special was an excellent recommendation by Ulisis. Unfortunately, I didn’t look at the specials board, so when the linguini and chicken breast was served on a bed of spinach I had to send it back. (I can’t eat spinach due to gout, which really kills me because it was my favorite vegetable for decades. And it looked beautiful.) The kitchen promptly took away the spinach and replated the rest of the dish so it looked like it was meant to be served that way.
The pasta was cooked al dented, the chicken was moist and the sauce was delicious, with just a little bite of lemon.
For dessert, I had the flan. I know, I’m mixing cuisines by not getting the cheesecake but I love custard in all its forms. This one was pretty special and I’m glad I got dessert.

I thoroughly enjoyed my meal at La Terraza de Taos. The mole sauce (made with Mexican chocolate) was the one of the best I’ve ever had, very rich with chili and of medium spiciness, and the salsa was absolutely delicious (you can’t eat just one chip). The overall service was good, but we were disappointed because the kitchen messed up my wife’s order and we were told that they would remake it, but we would have to wait until after a number of other customers who came in after us were served. Instead, she opted for chips and salsa, which didn’t require much preparation. We felt that the restaurant should have prioritized my wife’s order, or, at least, given her the chips and salsa for free.

We really enjoyed this. Food made with fresh ingredients. We had a taco salad and enchiladas. Service was very friendly and prompt. Relaxing and enjoyed the various pieces of art. Thank you for such a nice experience. Only in town for a couple of days but would definitely go back.

Food was very tasty. The service was really nice and friendly. Food is a little spicy if you’re not used to it (I thought it was the perfect amount of spice). The devil margarita was great. The seafood enchiladas were great.

The restaurant was very inviting, including pictures of historical Mexican figures on the walls and artwork depicting New Mexico’s heritage. The service was prompt and friendly and food fresh and delicious. Very glad I stopped in here on my final day in Taos.

I have been coming here for a while now. I live in Taos and this is my go-to restaurant when I go out. The food is the best Mexican food in town at the most reasonable price. Francisco, the owner, is from Acapulco and knows his seafood. You wouldn’t think about seafood this far inland but Frank does wonders with it! Excellent enchiladas, a Bistec a la Tampiquena, which is my favorite. Go here, you can’t go wrong.
