I got to this place and the first thing we get from the girl behind the bar it’s I don’t know who y’all are let’s open a tab. When I didn’t do it me and my buddy got ignored by her all the time. She was more focused on flirting with one of the customer at the bar than doing her own job. Also I put money on the jukebox to play music I paid for and they ended up shutting it off cuz she was playing her own music she wanted to play from her phone. I talked to the manager and he looked at me with a stupid face like he couldn’t understand English. Worst experience in this place ever. Also they over charge my buddy on his debit card for something that he did not order trying to steal some of his money. This is the worst place I had ever been. If you looking for a better experience better go to Ameca or Los Arcos.

The place was clean. Food was mediocre at best. Service was good, food was not very hot. At least the beer was cold.

Got lucky that 3 other places I tried were closed on a Monday evening while visiting Monticello for work and happened to drive by LaTerrza and decided to give it a try. Food was great, reasonably priced and service was prompt and friendly. The bar area had pool tables and an electronic juke box so the music was good too. I’d eat there again for sure.

Update 10-17-25 do NOT eat here after I paid and left a cash tip the next day they charged my card $3 for a tip! I did NOT mark on my receipt to charge a tip. I left cash! I will NOT return here again.

Normally the food is pretty good. Today I ordered a beef taco salad. It was super greasy, un seasoned, there was hardly any cheese, sour cream or guacamole on it. There was no pico only a few tomatoes. I was so disappointed and couldn’t even eat most of this taco salad.

We are currently staying in Monticello for work so all of our meals are mostly drive thru fast food. La Terraza is right across the street from our motel. We decided to do take out from here since there’s only so many cheap greasy burgers from fast food places one can eat in a 10 day period. I ordered our food for 4 people over the phone. 2 orders of chicken fajitas, 2 crunchy tacos with meat and cheese only, and 2 soft tacos meat and cheese only. We also had 1 large Queso. It was only a 10 minute wait. There was a drive thru window so I didn’t even have to get out of my car. The man was nice enough but when he told me $83 I nearly passed out. And of course there’s always the line for a tip so this being a small business I left a $10 tip making it $93. I wouldn’t have minded paying that IF the food was good. It absolutely was NOT. Worst “Mexican” food I’ve ever had in my life. My entire family agreed. The tacos tasted old like the shells were on the shelf and pre-ordered. They weren’t fresh by any means. The meat had a funky taste too. It wasn’t seasoned well either. The fajita meat was even worse. It was not the typical grilled chicken tossed in fajita seasoning. This was also the cheapest meat that looked like dog food. None of my family took more than 2 bites with exception to the Queso. But that’s just cheese and a little milk. Kind of hard to mess that up. There are a couple of other options in town for authentic Mexican food that I would go to that hopefully don’t use use the same suppliers. I gave the service 3 stars and not 1 because the man at the window said thank you and was nice.

Extremely clean. Food was excellent. Appears to be husband wife team and they knock it out of the park.

Excellent Food, service & atmosphere. Some loud hustle & bustle on & off. Just means they were busy & getting more busy & it was only when dishes were being cleaned from tables to kitchen. My mother & I ate lunch here after her doctor appt. The inside was clean & neat. Bathrooms clean & tidy, adequately stocked. Although bathroom cabinets need reconstructing. Poor quality handmanship, cosmetically. Otherwise, food, service, & prices were to satisfaction. I had the Steak, chicken, & shrimp quesadilla, mom had the Mexicans Relintos. We will eat here the next time we visit Monticello.

Clean and friendly. Enjoyed speaking with staff.
Margaritas were some of the best! We’ve eaten in a lot of Mexican restaurants and this one rates in the top 5 on dishes.
We had the fajita potato with beans and rice.

Wednesday is karaoke night. Alcohol is flowing, songs are being butchered, bartender is really really fast. What’s not to love?
