Great experience from the beginning to the end. I had to plan a surprise birthday party in 30 days and after visiting multiple restaurants, LaTavola didn’t hesitate to make this dinner party come to life! Heather, the event planner was wonderful. The food was amazing and our waiters April and Josh made our gathering smooth and easy. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about how delicious the food was! Thank you Nick! Shrimp appy was delectable with a sauce so perfect we wanted a spoon! Both the Pork Chop and the Scarpiello mains were equally perfect. The peppermint cheesecake although festive was just ok. Our server was distracted which also distracted our experience. ,Although it was a Monday night, still holiday attendance filled the space.

I want to start by saying our waiter was excellent. There was a mix-up at our table where a burger was confused with a steak, and he handled it quickly and professionally. He was sweet, charismatic, and clearly doing his best.
Unfortunately, the problems came from the kitchen. My mother’s salmon came out raw in the center, which is unacceptable. While our waiter was kind, it was difficult to get his attention once the food issues became apparent.
My chicken parmesan was also disappointing, the sauce was extremely watery, to the point where you could visibly see pasta water separating from it. The dish lacked both proper texture and flavor.
I truly wanted to love this place, but the food quality fell short. I’ve honestly had better service at D’Amelio’s and should’ve just gone there.

The best of the best. My husband and i travel SO much and try SO many restaurants and i have to say that this is one of our favorite Italian restaurant. Top notch food. So authentic and delicious. very hospitable staff. They have such good knowledge of their menu. They are friendly and welcoming. Great ambience. They have pictures and paintings hung all over the wall that are beautiful to look at (they are for sale btw). They have a winery.
Definitely worth a try!

I visited La Tavola for a family dinner right before Valentine’s Day (a little delayed on this review, oops) and was able to take part in some of their amazing Valentine’s specials, like the lamb chops and fun desserts that were offered. We were seated downstairs, and I really liked the vibe of the restaurant. Two of my family members ordered the lasagna bolognese, and we were completely shocked at the massive block that came out! Every meal we had was fantastic, and I’ll be keeping them in mind for Valentine’s or other holiday meals in addition to hopefully visiting more often!

Overall: the food & service saved this experience from being a downer.
Got a meatball panini (they’re claim to fame balls) and the grinder was a winner, great sauce and killer meatballs that were seasoned right w/that perfect texture.
Got a chicken special that was really good too!
Pros: Legit well made italian dishes w/lots of flavor. Had a great waiter on the day shift who was super attentive.
Cons: Street parking is tricky (old italian neighborhood, so narrow roads)
Smell….I dnt know if the bathroom septic had an issue or what was going on but theres a strange funk floatin around.
Might come back still, the food was that good.

It’s hard to believe this place is in Waterbury. I Live in Waterbury 10 years and I never been in this place. Wow wow hands down, it’s amazing place. We went for Valentines lunch and the staff were very attetive. We made a reservation 13th and due snow storm we had to book for next day, amazing and very understanding staff they accommodate us for next day even they were full booked. Appetizer wow shrimp toast , Jesus my mouth is drooling right now. Wine taste great, I like the way you can taste first and then decide if you like or not. Entree were great , chicken parmigiana and spaghetti with balls were amazing delicious. You can smell and see the fresh quality ,of the ingredients. Love it! We end with dessert banana cheese cake and was a bomb. I can’t wait for come back, price where very reasonable for what you eat and worth. It’s my new favorite place.

I highly recommend you find a different restaurant to go to if it is one of their busy times. We went on new years eve fully anticipating having to wait on food. We did not anticipate that we would need to ask someone to recieve service to our table. We did not anticipate that one of us would need to go to the bar to get their own drink. The server forgot about him, nor did we anticipate that when our dinners arrived one of us would be left without a their meal for 3 minutes. ( Food was delicious, if you can get it. ) When asked why it was so late the server just said I don’t know. No apology, nothing. Asked to talk to the manager also no apology . We were told, “We’re busy and we don’t microwave our food”. I’ve been to other restaurants that are well prepared to handle the busiest times of the year. LaTavola is not.
