I have a mixed review on this Mexican place. The food was okay, but for me it was a little bland and some of the flavors were not as expected. Our food came out and looked like it was sitting in the kitchen because the rice, beans and queso developed a skin. The chips were good. My favorite was the flan for dessert, it was delicious and made in-house. I was excited to see sopapilla on the dessert menu. I thought the entrees were a bit overpriced.
The servers were very nice and friendly, our waitress told us about her favorites. Unfortunately they kept forgetting to bring us things like menus, drinks, to-go boxes. We ordered the queso dip. We asked for more chips when she brought the dip to the table, she took the basket of chips away from us and didn’t come back for a while and our queso got cold. We ordered dessert and no one cleared the dinner dishes on the table so there was no room to eat the desserts. It wasn’t very busy and only half the tables were occupied. It was very clean in the dining area and the restrooms. The bar area looked real nice, the place was decorated simply and the chairs are comfortable.

Service was terrible. Only 3 tables of people total and the waitress proceeded to neglect all of them and instead hid behind the bar. Had to remind her about our drinks. Never came and checked on us except to drop the food off and then the check. Food was okay. Nothing to make it stand out from any other Mexican restaurant in the area. Margaritas were VERY watered down with little alcohol. Saying the name of this restaurant outloud is the best part of the entire experience. Shame, I wanted to like this place.

For the most part most Mexican restaurants all taste the same and it usually comes down to service, well Latapatia nailed the service. Our waitress was very personable and made and excellent recommendation, I don’t remember the exact name but it’s the witchcraft burrito! Duuuuuuude!!!! never had anything like it. Absolutely amazing! And the margaritas actually had alcohol in em! Highly recommend trying this place out

We stumbled across La Tapatia as we ran errands on a Sunday afternoon. They were not busy and the place was quiet and relaxing. Our server was very friendly and we were seated immediately. The food was delicious, the service was great, and the price for our meal was in line with most similar restaurants. We’ll definitely be back!

This restaurant was the best by far in St. Charles County! I would give 10 stars if I could! The servers were very friendly and professional. They were smiling and making recommendations and we ordered shortly afterwards. The food came out quickly and was hot and very flavorful! I ordered the Quesabirria tacos, corn and rice! The Quesabirria taco meat was moist and tender, the corn was delicious and the rice was extraordinarily made from a family recipe. The taste was like nothing

They’re new to the are and has been operating for about 6 months now! I’m so excited they are in the area now! I plan to stop in more often! Just so you know their Happy hour is from 11am to 6pm Mon thru Sun so I’ll have to try that as well!

Arrived at 3pm on a Thursday. One other customer there. Service was terrible. Our food arrived cold because the server let it sit. No combination plates on menu. Flavor was sub par.

The food was extremely delicious, I have been to several Mexican restaurants in town and in my opinion this is the best place in St. Charles, they also have an extensive drink menu, the owner took the time to explain to me the Mexican drinks they offer.
