Fabulous tasting menu to celebrate a special occasion. Every course was glorious and the hard-working team behind it all deserve every success. La Tana is a small neighbourhood restaurant making a big splash by creating super fine food with love, expertise and real skill. We will be back.

My husband and I had a wonderful meal at La Tana to celebrate our anniversary! It’s beautifully decorated and has a lovely atmosphere, with a very friendly welcome and service throughout our visit. The meal was incredible! We had delicious specials starters, and of course their amazing Mozzarella dough balls! And we shared a veggie Calzone which was huge and so tasty! We also had yummy ice cream and a slice of banoffee pie. Excellent choice of drinks as well were on offer. The team were super helpful in creating a veggie calzone, and assured us that many of the dishes offered can be made vegetarian as everything is cooked fresh to order. This is brilliant news for us and we will certainly be back! Other reviews have commented that it is overly expensive, but the quality of food and portions would suggest otherwise. If you want a cheap Italian meal there are lots of options in town, but for an incredible meal this is the place! And we absolutely could have scaled back our order to be more affordable if it wasn’t a special occasion, and we will do so that we can visit often! Thanks to the brilliant team and huge complements to the chef!

La Tana is truly the best Italian restaurant in Brighton! From the moment you step in, you’re greeted with warm hospitality and an inviting atmosphere. The food is absolutely delicious—each dish is bursting with authentic flavors that transport you straight to Italy. Since our first visit, we’ve returned three times because we just can’t get enough!
The service is impeccable; the staff are friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about providing a great dining experience. What makes La Tana stand out even more is that the entire kitchen team is Italian, which really shines through in the quality and authenticity of the food. You can tell every dish is cooked with love and dedication.
Highly recommend for anyone craving genuine Italian cuisine in Brighton. We’ll definitely be back again soon!

Well what can we say about this place, the food is out of this world. If you have to eat please don’t pass this place. If you’re visiting or leave nearby you NEED to come here. You’ll never go to another Italian again. The staff are brilliant the food is even better. We will most definitely be coming back. The whole ambience is top notch, the decor is very tasteful and not over the top. Unfortunately we didn’t get to have a dessert as we were too full but they looked just as good as the starters and mains. Please don’t pass an opportunity to come here. You will not be disappointed

We had a great evening. There was a good menu. A great atmospheres. Everything is cooked to order. The food was delicious. The pasta dishes were huge. We did think that the Sea Bass at £29.95 was overpriced but it was cooked to perfection and well presented.

We had dinner here on a Tuesday night – very nice and quiet setting. Free street car parking available. Waiter and owner were very attentive and kind. Owner is from Naples – Italy. Nice Italian music was playing. Comfortable chairs. A lot of space and tables. Very romantic and family friendly atmosphere.

This place was quite packed on a Sunday evening around 7:30 PM when we arrived. Everything around us looked delicious. We ordered the bread basket, House , salads, and lasagna. For Italian restaurant, the bread basket was disappointing as it seemed like a loaf of Italian bread you would buy frozen at the grocery store.

If you’re wondering where Patcham has been hiding its culinary superstar, it’s La Tana. Honestly, what a find. The food is beautiful — proper comfort, proper flavour, and you can tell someone in that kitchen actually cares.
Let’s start with the meatballs. Because… wow. These things are to die for. Rich, velvety tomato sauce, soft-but-not-mushy meatballs, and that perfect “just one more dunk of bread” moment. If they bottled that sauce, I’d buy it. In bulk.
The starters? Those little cheesy baked bites are basically what would happen if heaven and carbs had a baby. Golden, gooey, soft, crispy — I mean, pick a texture and it’s there doing its job perfectly.
Mains were just as impressive — the chicken in creamy sauce was melt-in-your-mouth ridiculous, the pasta was silky and indulgent, and whoever’s in charge of the desserts deserves their own parade. The banoffee slice? Dangerous. As in, don’t leave me alone with it.
And the service… top tier. Friendly, attentive without hovering, and they actually look like they want to be there, which is rare enough to celebrate these days.
If you want a gorgeous meal, great service, and meatballs that will live rent-free in your mind for the rest of the week, get yourself to La Tana. Patcham, you’re punching well above your weight with this one.
