Almost every time I’ve been to San Jose I come here. I raved about how good the food is, was. This time it was mediocre, the pasta had too much tomatoe and no flavor, the steak was tough and mashed potatoes had a weird taste and cold. The owner back in the day would always greet and cook. Now he just kept going up and down the stairs with a bothered look on his face. They had no artesanal beer i looked like a dummy taking my sister there and it was not good anymore. Also, they say they accept cards, but did not this time. ????? Sad that the love is not in the food anymore. I will say the hot chocolate was good.

This is the only place on the mountain that does different food. We had an amazing 1st night meal with incredible candle lit ambience and had the tocino pasta, which was refreshing after 10 days of tacos and quesadillas.

However when we came back ( thinking it was a safe bet ) we’d ordered the carbonara which was not good. It had no cream, barely any olive oil and the eggs came SCRAMBLED, SCRAMBLED I TELL YE!! my partners plate had 5 small bits of bacon.

The bread starter was dry and had no olive oil too!! A shame because the first night was incredible!! Maybe it was the cook on the day? Who knows.

Huge and delicious portions! Two people shared a plate of pasta and a steak and it was difficult to ate it all. The pasta was amazingly good and the steak so tender and cooked perfectly. They had a big selection of beers and mezcal that it was difficult to choose. It’s on the expensive side but it was worth every penny. Service was good and fast.

AMAZED. Did not expect this place to be so delicious! Small Italian restaurant by the highway with trippy decor that turned out to be splendid!!! Went for dinner – Italian owner is present and gave us suggestions. The pastas are great – our favorite were the Choncha and the Frappa; you must try one of these two. They make their own sausages which makes it special. I recommend splitting the pastas as they are huge. Great offering of artesanal beers. Prices are fair.

Food was amazing! We went there twice in our short stay in San Jose, and it is some of the best Italian food I have ever had and the house red is lovely too. Our only downside and confusion was the hand drawn art of Hitler and Auschwitz along with others on the back wall, we unfortunately do not speak enough Spanish to get an explanation for these.

Portions are huge but no taste in pasta. It’s also overpriced for what is served. Service is slow. Complimentary bread is not fres not warm. Atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice.

Very nice little spot, service is good and the menu is hand written, which I didn’t mind at all. Not a big menu but what they do they do well. I am taking some of the beers home. Portians are big, best lemonade in Mexico.

Steaks are yum. (280 pesos) slightly undercooked, ordered one medium rare and it came out blue. The sausages(300 pesos) were bland. The mash was yum!! They also bring out some goats cheese and baked garlic buttery bread starter . Service is alright. They let us bring our own wine, so long as they don’t sell it, no cork fee! It’s expensive but 2 can share one dish.

Great place to have a fancy dinner in-situ with your significant other or friends. The specialty is pasta but the steaks are great as well. I had the Arrabbiata and a couple of artisanal beers (Poleo & Juárez) and it was a whole experience. The only thing is that they didn’t have national beer so dinner was a bit more expensive. Costumer service is good. Highly recommend.

Solid spot, quality ingredients, HUMONGOUS portions. Literally you receive a bathtub of pasta. Next time I’d like to try a steak, looked great at another table! Good local craft beer options too.
