Authentic Italian deli featuring homemade Italian dishes, Homemade soup and pasta. Sandwiches and grinders of all Your favorite meats, specialty sandwiches, and grinders Garden salad and specialty salads available and dinners daily. Italian cookies and pastries. We do catering for all events and we offer delivery every day. Friday is homemade pizza. Homemade stuffed breads are available by order. We have all Italian varieties of predator chips, cookies, chocolates, olive oil and vinegar. We also have a variety of Italian vegetables, pesto sauce, anchovies. And everyone’s favorite Effervescent also known as Brioski. All Italian products are imported from Italy. We also have our La strega clothing as well as available. We have gelato.

I pass by this deli often and it can be quite easy to miss. You know what doesn’t miss? Everything else. The greeting from lovely Italian women feels so homey and authentic walking in. The place is decorated lovely and it’s small but roomy. I ordered the Pufferson Special which was recommended to me and by goodness it didn’t disappoint! It has Prosciutto, Breaded chicken, pickles, broccoli rave and right on this perfectly crafted roll! It was an Italian dream in a sandwich and I couldn’t get enough of it. Shout-out Chris Berry and Leanza Santana, love them!

This place is a gem ! Everything is just as expected and delicious. The stuffed bread is the best I’ve ever had and would highly recommend it ,stuffed to the gills and super huge. All of them are good but the eggplant stuffed bread is my favorite. Worth every penny!

My husband and I came into La Strega this morning for the first time. We were welcomed like entering into my families home. We chatted a bit with the owner and her staff. Ordered a grinder that was way better than what we have ordered from other places. We live around the corner from La Strega, and are now asking ourselves “why haven’t we tried this before now?” We will definitely be back!!

I’ve had the pleasure of trying their grinders, pasta dishes, soups, and dinners, and I can confidently say that everything I’ve tasted has been delightful. One standout dish for me is the broccoli rabe with sausage; it’s exceptionally well-prepared and flavorful.
The owner of this lovely deli, Anna, is incredibly accommodating and genuinely passionate about her cooking. She engages with customers and brings a vibrant energy to the place. Her staff is attentive and polite, making an effort to meet everyone’s needs, even during busy times.
I’ve also had the opportunity to have La Strega cater for work functions and a small get-together. Each time, the variety of grinders was fantastic, and for the get-together, I ordered a beautifully arranged cheeseboard featuring various cheeses, fresh Italian cold cuts, marinated olives, and The chicken parm, let’s just say It was a hit!
Other popular items I’ve enjoyed include the eggplant rollatini, fresh pasta sauce, meatballs, and the delightful pepperoni bread chicken cutlets, ribeye, pork loin and all types of variety of pizza, calzones, rice, balls, and so many other delicious food.
A highlight of mine is Anna’s homemade pistachio cake—simply incredible!
If you find yourself in Middlebury, I highly recommend stopping by this deli. Anna also offers a wonderful selection of pastries, Italian cookies, and well-known Italian brands like espresso cofdie and biscotti. and so much more.
