Stopped in on a whim, my boyfriend sussed out it would be an authentic mom and pop Italian joint from the look on the outside. He was correct – we were very pleased with our experience. Old school Italian restaurant vibes, cozy comfortable seating – just the right lighting and music volume to create atmosphere without being overwhelming. Friendly, prompt staff.
Food was wonderful – we shared a meatball appetizer that was very flavorful. He enjoyed his manicotti and I had Caesar salad with perfectly cooked and seasoned grilled chicken. We shared an affogato and chocolate cake for dessert – preferred the affogato of the two.
Definitely worth a stop!

I found this place about a year ago when dodging the crowds of the tourist area in St Augustine. I have been with multiple friends and family. I ordered a different dish every visit. Every single time this place delivers a delicious meal. The time to receive your meal is a little longer, but everything is made to order. Their sauce is perfect and everyone is friendly. Whether it is a small family dinner or date night, I promise you won’t be disappointed…In my opinion, this is the best secret in the area.

Easy to miss little hole in the wall, but you don’t wanna miss this one. Italian isn’t even on my radar when looking for places to eat but it will be after having eaten here. Food was delicious, servers were great. Went back within the week and brought my parents.

We were craving Italian food and accidentally discovered La Strada just down from hotel where were were staying. We absolutely loved the place and were trying to figure out how we could eat there one more time before leaving in two days. All of the entrees automatically include a house salad in the reasonable prices. And for a small amount, you can upgrade to one of their speciality salads, which we did. The La Strada salad was very delicious. We also ordered the warm garlic bread, which came with their wonderful marinara sauce. I had the stuffed shells and my husband had the chicken marsala we were both extremely happy with our choices. This restaurant has an extensive wine list and nice glasses of wine as well. The atmosphere was warm and cozy, with lots of beautiful colored lights. We highly recommend you try La Strada. You won’t be sorry!

My go-to Italian restaurant when I return home, never had a disappointing experience here and the food has pretty much always been impeccable on my visits.
Shrimp Scampi with extra garlic is the way to go here but there specials they offer are always incredibly compelling.
My only real wish is that they’ll offer parmesan slices for their caesar salad instead of powdered/finely grated.

This is the best meal I have had since I moved to Florida in 2021. I highly recommend La Strada! Everything was made with love and care from the fresh garlic bread to the freshly made pesto sauce to the homemade spumoni ice cream. They also brought the check along with dessert. The timing was impeccable! Thank you!! The wait staff was professional , knowledgeable, and had an exceptional work ethic. The next time we’re in St. Augustine, we will definitely return! You get what you pay for! Thank you for a magnificent dining experience!!

I would not recommend this restaurant for anyone with dietary restrictions. Two people in our party are vegan, and despite clearly stating this multiple times, we were still served meat.
Our waiter was dismissive from the start. When we inquired about vegan options, he brushed off our questions. We ordered spaghetti with marinara and explicitly requested no meat. We also asked if vegetables could be added or ordered on the side, and he responded, “The chef is too busy for that,” which felt unnecessarily rude.
Despite our clear request, both pasta dishes contained chunks of meat. Our waiter never checked on us and had already left for the night. The waitress who took over was apologetic and explained that they have a plain marinara without meat—something we had already asked for. She offered to have the dishes remade, but the restaurant was closing and we had already eaten some of the food and at this point felt ill.
The restaurant did remove the charge for the improperly prepared meals, which we appreciated. The atmosphere and wine were enjoyable, and the non‑vegan members of our group liked their dishes. However, the waiter’s attitude and the failure to honor a basic dietary request made this a disappointing experience.

Stumbled across La Strada on a recent trip to St. Augustine. Restaurant is family owned and operated. Staff were very friendly and food was delicious. Restaurant decor is a little dated and could use a refresh. My wife has a dairy intolerance and Italian food is always a challenge because of the cheese and cream often used. However the staff and kitchen were able to accommodate her dietary restrictions. We both agree that we would eat here again.
