History. If the walls could talk! Restaurant and bar go back a century, current restaurant same family owned 80+ years. Comfort food, muy affordable. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Family friendly.

This was our first and last experience here. The food was good. Although I didn’t expect breakfast potatoes to be French fries. Unfortunately the waitress Rosa provided terrible customer service. I brought my own creamer because it seemed like a small restaurant and I didn’t expect it to have vanilla creamer. She said bringing in outside drinks was against the rules (there are rules everywhere about every little thing including how you need to make children behave in a restaurant). She took my creamer placed it in a brown bag and said I could have it when I left. I use about 6 creamer in each cup and she brought 1-2 creamers. She became visibly upset when I kept asking for more and finally emptied my creamer into a metal canister. We asked for a straw and she paused asking what we needed it for and waited for the answer before she would give us straws. We are adults and don’t need to give a reason for needing straws. When the food was served we asked for silverware and she said what do you need. We had to ask individually for a spoon, fork and knife when it was needed. I understand trying to cut costs to save money but restaurants are in the business of hospitality not frugality. We were completely displeased with Rosa’s service and do not recommend anyone trying to eat here.

Well worth your time to visit this restaurant. Chile rellenos are a good reason to visit, homemade Mexican food in a historical building great bar in the back. I would eat there again.

The atmosphere in the restaurant is great, rich with history and it’s like a museum in there dedicated to the history of Guadalupe. The Food is great, and really affordable. I got a cheeseburger, a coke and some chips this afternoon and my total was under $10! While the burger in and of itself isn’t much to write home about, I HIGHLY recommend the carne asada with refried Beans, the meat is delicious and the refried beans are ACTUAL refried beans, none of that canned stuff. The Owner, Rosa, always greets you with a smile and has plenty of stories to tell (and lots of life advice too!) Please swing by if you’re ever in the area, and if you bring Cash, they have a really 1960s Cash Registers up front and in the bar that they still use and it’s an absolute treat to hear the ‘ka-ching’ when they ring you up, but they do accept card as well!

I’ve been driving by this place for years and finally stopped for Sunday lunch. It has a nice, historic, neighborhood atmosphere with some locals enjoying lunch. Perhaps we hit it on a bad day, but sadly our food was mediocre at best. My chili verde only had perhaps 5 or so small bite-sized chunks of pork, with the rest comprised of a watery sauce. No tomatillo or chili flavor. My wife only ate a bite of her taco because she said it tasted funny and I agreed. Service was inattentive but I didn’t expect much . Really a 2.5 stars experience.
