The owner ” El Colocho” has became our friend, he and his family are always welcoming us to his restaurant. Pupusas are delicious, fresco de ensalada, desayuno tipico salvadoren̈o.
We live 5 hours away, but when we travel to Reno or Lake tahoe we always make space to visit ” La santaneca ” located in Carson city.

You will love the food!! The owner is awesome, his service was amazing (as always) and the food is so good and filling and delicious. Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Pupusas are excellent for a quick fill up but if you get the tilapia plate prepare to be in food bliss! The combo plate had like five different awesome selections as well!

I was out of town for work and googled for near me and interested me for some home cooked style comfort food from home (originally from Miami), and this hit the spot immediately. Amazing quality, generous portions, authentic food. Would go again once I’m back in town for dinner.

Overall this is a 2-3 star meal. I rated 2 because of packaging
In comparison to other El Salvadoran Papuserias the papusa size is normal, however they are thinner than most places for the price. The Horchata is also small for the price.
My biggest negative is how the to-go order was packaged. I ordered 6 revultas papusas which came with pickled coleslaw and hot sauce. However it was only wrapped in foil. No container/ plate or utensils which is very inconvenient being at a hotel.
*** I did use Grubhub for the order but it is not their responsibility to package the meal. I most likely not go back or order from here again

Authentic, homemade, and delicious! If you’re unsure what to order, give El Tipico a try. Pupusas are Salvadorian quesadillas, consider asking for rice flour instead of the default corn flour.

The food was real good. I had four different Pupusas (Shrimp, Veggie, Pork and House Special) The service was outstanding. The gentlemen waiting on us explained the menu and was very patience. The dessert was tasty. (Empanada) The whole experience was excellent. Will definitely go back and try more.
