So, I drove all the way from D.C. to Sterling just because of Pupusa Loca, because honestly, they have the best pupusas in the whole DMV area — at least to my taste. My friend and I ordered pupusas and a carne asada to share. We loved the pupusas so much that we got full and decided to take the carne asada home.
As I’m packing the carne asada, I see a cockroach under the meat. I was in shock. I called the server right away to show her what was happening, and she just brushed it off, saying, “That’s not from the carne asada, it’s from the table — I think it came from the wall.” Like, what?! She takes the carne asada to the kitchen and drops the check as if nothing happened.
I called her back and told her we weren’t going to pay for the carne asada because we didn’t even touch it and obviously couldn’t take it home after that. And that’s when things went downhill. The lady got so defensive, saying the cockroach didn’t come from the food and that it was our fault because we “had it sitting on the table too long.” I was honestly more shocked by her reaction than by the cockroach itself.
Then, after arguing for a while, she finally says, “Alright, I’ll take it off the bill,” and snatches the check from my hand so aggressively. She goes to the server station and starts yelling to her coworkers that I was “crazy” and wanted the carne asada taken off the bill. I couldn’t believe what I was witnessing.
Like… what kind of service is that? I drove an hour just to eat at my favorite place, and it turned into one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. Not once did she apologize, not even a simple “I’m sorry.” Instead, I got blamed for having a cockroach in my food. The whole thing was insane — the attitude, the lack of accountability, everything.
I’m honestly still disgusted and in disbelief. Never going back again.

We love pupusas and have friends who make them for us. So when pupusa loca appeared we were excited to try it. We love every screaming hot dish. Loved the bottles curtido and salsa on the table to add to our dishes. Please be patient with the staff as their English is not the best but they are eager to please and understand what you are asking for. We def are going again. Authentic Salvadoran cuisine for sure!!

They delivered the food piping hot. I ordered two pupusas because I was hungry, but they are more hearty than I was anticipating. I was only able to eat half of each. The jalapenos in one tasted very fresh and added a good amount of spice.
My husband got the beef tacos and the meat was well seasoned. They put enough in there for an extra one. Will definitely try more of their options.

I love pupusas and have had them many times in different restaurants. I went to this place after seeing reviews. Now, I got some to take out. Pupusas were great, very impressive. Spicy and I enjoyed it. Recommended.

I took picture after started eating. The pupusas smelled great. The flavors were wonderful and easy to cut. It was my first time having pupusas and I was impressed. The salsa was a great complement to the pupusas; I wish it was a bit spicy to give it a kick. Overall, I enjoyed the food very much and highly recommend this place.

This restaurant is disgusting. We ordered from them and when we received the food there was a glove in our son’s food container. Absolutely disgusting. When we called to complain and demand a refund they hung up on us multiple times. After many phone calls someone finally picked up and said they didn’t speak English and hung up again. They stopped answering the phone afterwards. Worst restaurant ever.

I order 4 Pupusas 2 frijoles con queso & 2 revueltas unfortunately I got all 4 frijoles con queso and was charge the difference for the revuelta, I went back and show the server both take out she came back from the kitchen and said that there wAs both revueltas and mention that the cooker said they couldn’t change it because it was revueltas, I know the difference between the 2 and they think they can fool a costumer, I’d say to please check your orders before you leave the restaurant I honestly don’t like the service!

Their pupusas are great all tho they’re pretty expensive I just don’t like that sometimes they tend to change of cheese recipe and it feels when it’s low quality. Also their Hot chocolate it’s not authentic it’s like chocopanda which I don’t appreciate but over all my favorite pupusas in the area
