A Hidden Gem with Heart and Soul

This place is an absolute treasure. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by the sweetest Venezuelan couple—two true abuelitos who treat every customer like family

The food was homemade and fresh!! Out of this world. The flavors brought me back to the stuff I know and love from Peru (I know this place is Venezuelan, but the food tasted like something I would eat in my homeland!) It’s rare to find a spot where the food tastes like your abuelita made it.

I had the Burguesa which is probably one of the best burgers I’ve EVER had (please make sure you get the pineapple sauce; it’s very good!) the cachapa with guayanes cheese and shredded beef was also EXCELLENT, and finally we had the arepa with beef which also was pretty amazing!

Quick/ warm service, the portions are generous, and everything is so reasonably priced! If you live in Kendall or are close by, I definitely recommend it 🙂

Absolutely love this place. It’s owned by the sweetest husband and wife team. The food is always so fresh and tasty and made to order in front of you. The restaurant is immaculately clean, right down to the restrooms. Prices are reasonable and portions are a good size. If you want to support your local community, you definitely have to try them out, so delicious

Absolutely amazing experience! The empanadas and hot dogs were incredible, fresh, flavorful, and perfectly satisfying. You can tell they put real care into their food. The service was just as impressive. Everyone was so kind, attentive, and genuinely wanted to make sure we had the best experience possible. It’s rare to find a place where you feel this welcomed and leave this happy. Can’t wait to come back!

This was a very lovely experience. La Prepago is a mom & pop authentic Venezuelan cuisine spot. We tried the arepa with chicken and carne asada. It was the best arepa I have had and freshly made too. The owners remind me of my grandparents and are very sweet & welcoming. The price is also very reasonable. Highly recommend.

Overall my experience was great. If your into great home-style eats, have time and don’t care for frills and glamour, this place is for you. Delicious quality food, made on the spot. I had a stuffed shredded chicken arepa with cheese. The arepa was freshly made from scratch, and tasted amazing! I also ordered a shredded beef Venezuelan empanada, which at first I thought was a bit flat looking.. but tasted amazing! Stuffed with just the right amount of beef and the flatness help give it a crunch at the edges. We also ordered the tequenos. I had never had tequenos as cheesy as these in Miami. It was a great first time here!

I was serviced by two older individuals who I believe are the owners. You can tell they are proud of the quality of their food. And they were very attentive.

Because they don’t have the food laying around preheated already, the cooking takes a few, but it’s well worth it if you have the time. If not make sure to call your order ahead.

The experience was terrible. It was my first time and I won’t be back. They’re extremely thin, with almost no filling, very expensive for what little filling there is, they don’t come with sauces like any Venezuelan one, they’re greasy, and they don’t even have napkins, which are made of very poor quality. I would never recommend them.

Delicious, crunchy empanadas with good filling and excellent sauce. The owners are super sweet and welcoming. We ordered empanadas de pabellón y queso and came back for empanadas de Cazón and Tequeños.
