Being from El Paso and wanting a quick trip. This restaurant was more for the experience than the food. The restaurant is super cute with some surprises inside and friendly service. We were a party of 17 and we made reservations. We were seated immediately, our waitress was patient, kind and friendly! The restaurant is HUGE, different and casual/formal. The food presentation was good unfortunately it just didn’t have much flavor. Chips and salsa were great!

Great Mexican restaurant! They put a lot of attention to detail. The restaurant is well decorated and inviting. They even have a large and elaborate waiting room with fish tanks and various exotic birds.

Mixed response. Goofed up my order and gave beef when I ordered chicken. Charged me wrong. Friendly server who listened and was attentive though. A+ to the ambience. Mexican Burro drink was very nice. Food was ok, the “hot” was not so hot, food (chicken)was bland for me. Sopaipillas are good. Food overall not that bad, not that good either.

The food is a hit or miss, I don’t know why the inconsistency, same goes for service since this time we only saw our waitress twice for a table of seven. But the atmosphere, the decor, the history, brings us back. My kids love the birds and the piranhas!

Delicious food. Very nice atmosphere. Also very convenient after a long 12 hour day of driving to check in to your hotel Ramada inn and suites by Wyndham and then not having to drive more to go find food for dinner. There breakfast was outstanding as well. Pool was nice my kid loved it!

I love this place. The food is delicious and the service is always great. The drive is relaxing as it takes us away from our own neighborhood for hours to enjoy a different scenery. Beautiful decor around the whole restaurant and wonderful gift shops to shop at, makes the wait so much easier.

Such a beautiful and picturesque day !! The beautiful adobe architecture and warm harmonious hospitality is what describes when you enter this Mexican restaurant ! La Posta is legendary in the city of Mesilla New Mexico. Originated as a stop in the Butterfield Trail. It sheltered many of wild west personalities such as The Gunslinger Billy the Kid , Mexican Revolutionary War General Francisco “Pancho” Villa and American Frontiersman Kit Carson. This restaurant is timeless. As you walk in through the wooden door your greeted with the cool adobe air and the tantalizing smell of great Mexican food. We arrived for brunch. The wait staff is so friendly and go to great lengths to satisfy your taste buds. I ordered my Red Chili Chicken Enchiladas with chicken and as my family ordered there meal’s I couldn’t help but admire the vibrancy and of the decor. My dish arrived warm and bubbling with the smell of red chili and fresh diced chicken . The meal presentation was scrumptious and colorful. The Mexican rice and refried beans with cheddar cheese accompany this delicious and filling dish. The warm hospitality of our server was incredible. I give her a % she was awesome. My family’s dishes were also just as incredible and tasty. They have plenty of menu options and accompanying drinks and aguas frescas to fill your pallet. The various jewelry stores and gift shops that are inside will fill you with eye candy. So my advice to you is if your visiting the city of Mesilla New Mexico there are plenty of art shops and antique stores near and around this historic restaurant. Please make a stop at “La Posta Restaurant”. You’ll be glad you did.
