Definitely not how it use to be! Tostadas were stale we asked for fresh ones and they were just as bad. The waitress had an attitude and was in a hurry for who knows what reason.. any time we tried asking something she would interrupt trying to finish what we were asking just rushed.. asked her for melted butter on the side for my mom’s grilled shrimp and she brought her plate and a bowl of Cold hard butter! I told her seriously and she said well they cooked the shrimp in butter which it doesn’t matter if we asked for melted butter why are you bringing her cold butter my mom told her to put in the microwave and she took it very rude.. mind you it was not busy at all it was our party of 4 and one other table with one person.. the rice was cold on my husband’s plate.. my dad’s plate he orders the filete ala veracruzana definitely not what we are use to.. I will say the fried black bass was very good I asked for ir to be done al ajillo and she brings that on the side as well. Out appetizer was not brought before the main plates it’s was brought all together. This place is definitely not what it use to be from the quality to the crappy attitude of this lady it’s sad because this place was a childhood spot we enjoyed Go else where for what they try to charge you Villa Del Mar excellent customer service, clean, no stale food

I love La Playa I’ve been going here since 2006, and hands down it’s the best seafood place. Their oysters are delicious, shrimp cocktail, fried black bass, camarones al mojo de ajo, their salsas are delicious, and always attentive service. To top it off with the cherry on top, their prices are very reasonable. Just do it!

We go there often and will not go back. For us being regulars, you’d think we’d receive the excellent service we have always received. Not the case. The soup of the day was two different types of macaroni in a broth! For the prices!! Real cheap food o serve! My uncle always drinks one -three cups of coffee. The first cup he had to wait because they were making it. When he asked for the second cup the waitress said she was out of coffee!

Great food being served here love the caldo de pezcado and prices are not that bad has breakfast specails and lunch special Monday through Saturday place is small and cozy park right in front of the establishment, take out was fast and easy and my meal was complete without errors.

Fish ceviche is not overly sour unlike many places. Was able to order grilled octopus and was decent.

The place is nice, clean, and spacious. The waitress was very nice and knowledgeable. I personally had a large shrimp cocktail. My friend had the soup and it was plentiful. Full of taste and had plenty of fish. The price was fair and service was fast.
