A Fort Worth staple! The food is great, the location is central, the service is always good, and it’s a beautiful building. I have been many times before but came today for lunch after work. I got some combination fajita nachos. I loved that the meat was diced and not big chunks like I’ve received at other places. The restaurant wasn’t too crowded but it was still bustling. Def worth a try if you haven’t already!

Excited to try out LA Playa Maya
Nice atmosphere,but the waitress was in such a rush!! My grandson didn’t get any water,she overlooked our 13 yr old grandson most of the evening!
She was speeding through everything, appetizers…our drink orders she made feel anxious!
I was thankful for the owner/manager that came out to check on us several times. She was calmer,nice and didn’t rush us!
Our fajitas were not seasoned,chicken was dry I had hoped for an amazing meal, i even had to order cheese as a side!
I wish it had been more of a better dining experience!

My coworkers and I used to love this place but today we not only received horrible service by the waitress but the manager as well when I complained. Appetizers were brought out at the same time as our food. When the waitress realized it was not going to fit she grabbed our phones and told us to remove it from the tables and into our purses. Our food was missing items and never did she came back to ask if we need a refill. The chips lady ignored our request for more chips as the waitress told her to skip our table. I heard her and I told the manager and she replied with the oh well sorry it it happens. It happens it’s your job to make sure everything goes well. Horrible horrible experience.

I’ve been eating here every day for lunch for about a year now. Best Mexican food I’ve had and Velia is the best waitress. Ask for her and the beef fajitas or the cowboy tacos if you want a great experience.

EDIT: Changed my 3 star review to 5 star after second visit. Our second visit was much better. My son ordered the El 7 Mares cocktail with octopus, oysters, and shrimp. He gave it a 10 out of 10. My wife loved her Relleno. I tried a bite and it was delicious. I had the seafood enchiladas, which had shrimp and crab, with grilled veggies and white rice. Very light and delicious. Food wasn’t cold this time. It came out hot and fresh. We will be back. Thank you to the manager for encouraging us to give them another try.

I was excited about going to Playa Maya and it was a bad experience! The waitress was very slow serving the drinks and taking the order.
When the food was served they forgot my shrimp I let him know and they never bring me the shrimp until I told him I was finished eating and my shrimp never got to the table on top of that the shrimp was very small and it stinky. I told him I didn’t want it anymore and see if they could removed it from my bill and he didn’t.
I ask for the manager and the manager didn’t care all she said was that they had charge my card already and at the time she couldn’t do nothing.
Prices are ok for the quantity and quality they are serving! I was there last weekend!

Food and staff were great. Plate sizes are pretty big. Price is right for the amount of food they serve you. We had the shrimp cocktail, cowboy enchiladas, cowboy tacos and a fried fish that came with a fish soup. There sweet tea, lemonade and horchata were delicious as well. I definitely recommend this place
