I came in a few days ago for the Pernil Mofongo. It was amazing!!! The staff was extremely friendly and it had a family oriented atmosphere. I came back today for the Tostones Relleno de Carne. It was very Delicious and I’m definitely coming back.

I went to eat to this establishment and what a disappointment I paid for white rice, black beans and chicharon to go. The lady at the counter did not put the black beans in the bag and the rice did not look good at all, I took a taste of the chicharon and it had no seasoning I stopped at the nearest garbage disposal and threw the food out. I will never again come to this establishment and also what Hispanic place to eat don’t have maduros that was a big let down, but never again.

Chimis were $10 each and not as good. I got a small plate of rabo with moro and they charged me $18! Nowhere on the menu it says $18 plus they taxed me so I paid $43 for 2 sandwiches and a small plate. It’s not even a restaurant. This is food kept on hot plates that aren’t even cooked fresh. I’ll stick to the food trucks. I want to support my fellow Dominicans but they lie on price and overprice when they feel they can. It’s dishonesty that makes them not open many restaurants in the neighborhood. Way too expensive

Ordered chicken guisado and it was very spicy! Couldn’t even enjoy it. Rice needed some salt, tasted plain. Maduros were dry and not sweet enough. Overall Pernil was very delicious and had a great taste and the portion was just perfect.

We had such a great experience at La Placita de Doña Luz Minimarket! The food was amazing — full of flavor and freshly made and the service was just as good. The staff was super friendly and went out of their way to accommodate our party of seven so we could all eat inside together. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for great food and great people!

Food appearance definitely not as advertised
Taste missing the Dominican touch
Staff one off them I think cooks not a Dominican National was busy looking at me daughters butt when she went to take something to car . Once you get the one person that takes care of the buffet good. Wish them the best but you really need to pay attention to quality control. The first impression was very disappointing I love to support my peeps but cannot on this one.

I love that the store is open in the neighborhood, however, the grocery items are very expensive compared to the regular grocery store. The pricing is inconsistent as well, one day I paid $3 for a side of fries. The next it was $5.
The hot food is not worth buying. We have tried several hot food dishes, they all taste like MSG and Sazon. The food is not always fresh tasting either. We’ve thrown at least three platters from them in the trash, unfortunately. Even the muffins are stale. I had an empanada that was old and chewy and had bones inside, once again unfortunate. The breakfast isn’t bad at all! That’s honestly the only food worth eating from there.

I had a really disappointing experience here. The customer service is terrible even when there are almost no customers, they move slowly and have bad attitudes.
I ordered a simple plate of rice, beans, and a piece of chicken, and they charged me almost $16 for it. The food was plain, and looked poorly prepared. They even handed it to me in paper bag, and the food fell to the ground when I stepped out
It honestly feels like the owners just want to take your money without caring about quality or presentation. Definitely not worth the price.

Love the food here, staff is very friendly and has a little mini market with any liitle food items you may need. The deserts are best along with the prices. Defenetly get the flan, or the cheesecake and ask for the jam on top you wont regret it. I come in for breakfast almost everyday as well as dinner.

Food is to die for! You feel the culture and it’s so welcoming, I’ve come back at least 10 times, I love it so much. The chimi is so good, def worth every penny. Lynne’s customer service is great too, really helped me, when it came to picking what to eat, great recommendations. Food tastes like home. Definitely a hidden gem you need to visit!
