First note to self: never order sushi at a Mexican restaurant. Tacos durados were delicious as well as the tamarindo drink but the sushi roll was dry and they used hard rice that wasn’t anything near a sushi rice. Good atmosphere with outside seating on a good weather day. Do not get the appetizer chili guerito it was so slimy filled with shrimp and wrapped with bacon. I’ve never had a slim chili.

Omg! Sushi Mexican style!!! The best sushi I’ve tried in Boston plus Mexican flavors, you won’t find other place like this with original and authentic dishes, the portion size were amazing the staff super friendly, everything clean, the Jamaica drink delicious, even if you are not sushi lover definitely you should come!!! I have been going here for years and have tried almost everything on the menu. Everything is delicious and well-crafted from the unique sushi rolls to the classic and authentic Mexican dishes. The interior is clean and well decorated with a modern vibe. The staff are all extremely friendly and courteous. This is a true authentic restaurant in a world where everything is becoming a chain. This is truly a hidden gem just steps from the blue line.

Unique and delicious sushi alternative. I tried the Frontera and BBQ lover’s rolls. I had assumed they’d be smaller, similar to the 8-piece orders I usually receive, but each roll was rather large and two was too many for me. I was given a plate with some chipotle sauce, barbecue sauce, and soy sauce. The soy sauce seemed to almost have an extra ingredient to give it a tiny bit of heat. The bacon used in both rolls was fun, which is something I often do at home when rolling my own. The deep fried roll (Frontera) was something I wasn’t confident about at first, but had a really nice crispy outside to it. As a non-native visitor to the area, it was a fun find and a unique take on sushi. Rolls were priced around $13-$18 each.

I would recommend this place to anyone who hasn’t had the pleasure of enjoying Mexican sushi. Mexican sushi is pretty much cooked steak, chicken, and/or shrimp rolled in a rice roll. It can be fried or not fried. The practice started somewhere in Mexico (Sinaloa last I heard) and gained popularity on the west coast ie California. This place is nice and the food is good. I would recommend to the owner to tone down the amount of rice as it did feel like there was too much rice and not enough meat. I would also recommend the owner get an alcohol license because that will bring in a lot more cash to the business. And drinking a corona or modelo with this food is the perfect combo. Other than that, this place is awesome and the owner is super friendly and attentive to your experience at the Mexican sushi bar. 🙂

Best sushi in Boston… Period!!! Mexican style sushi with apps worth trying and repeating, need to try the spicy edamame and the chilitos güeros… Spoiler alert: they’re freakin awesome!!! Do yourself a favor, stop reading and head out there right now, thank me later
