It would be fine if the quality would have been higher but the pistachio eclair was made with the generic pistachio flavouring which was a big let down for 4.50£
I might come another time for a coffee but I am not in a rush.
I needed 4 strawberry tarts for a dinner party and I was feed up with the bland, bog standard strawberry tarts that are found in supermarkets. I telephoned early approx 9.30am and asked if they had any strawberry tarts that they could put aside for me to collect later. The owner/chef (I believe) told me he hadn’t planned on making any that day, but that he would for me, then to top it off he was able to make them within an hour so as to not keep me waiting too long. This was so refreshing to hear, in a time where many businesses struggle to deliver exceptional customer service.
Upon arrival I noticed the many customers sitting outside enjoying various hot drinks, pastries and sandwiches ☕️ The shop itself is steeped in architectural history, which lends itself to the French authenticity . The staff were warm and welcoming, greeting me with a friendly smile.
Everything had been too good to be true up to this point that I was apprehensive that the tarts would be a disappointment. Well, let me tell you,………….. they did not disappoint!! They were true authentic French strawberry tarts . Polar opposites from the bland supermarket ones, these had quality ingredients and flavour in abundance. The perfect amount of sweetness and packed full of fresh, ripe strawberries .
Needless to say I will be returning (frequently), I think next time I will purchase some of the quiches and sourdough bread .
A big thank you to this shop for making my day by being so accommodating.
We tried croissants Jambong sough dough and coffee and chai lattes.. all of food was great! My husband really like the sough dough sandwich. We will be back and tried other dishes:) enjoyed time in here. Next time we will try the sweet cakes
This cosy little cafe serves a range of delicious pastries from traditional pain au chocolat, butter croissants to apple lattice and baguettes. La Petite also serves a variety of bread based hot foods from panini to croque monsier (French cheese toastie with ham).
The cafe is authentic the pastries are crispy, yet soft and 100% worth its value. I’ve visited this place multiple times and I have always been left more than satisfied. They also serve your expected selection of coffee which are all very good.
The cafe has seating Inside and outside. Which is nice for a catch up with friends or a nice spot to have your morning coffee. La Petite Boulangerie is very busy during the weekends, but definitely worth the visit.
If you’re walking past I highly recommend a coffee ☕️ and the raspberry lattice.
