My husband and I live in Cedarburg but drive up to Elkhart often. We always pass this location, which changes hands often. They just finished their sign so we had to stop in! Initially we thought we’d grab drinks, which but there was another gentleman at the bar who said the food is excellent. I ordered the chicken chimichangas which were deep fried to perfection and had a healthy amount of chicken and cheese. My husband ordered the fish tacos which were beer battered cod with a spicy slaw. I would have loved them with some pico de gallo, avocado, queso fresco, but the tacos were excellent nonetheless. For a Mexican restaurant, there wasn’t much of a beer selection but they do have very delicious frozen margaritas. It looks like they are made with Zing Zang mix, which is good enough but not preferred to hand shaken. I will say that due to the location, it probably wouldn’t be wise for them to have fresh margarita ingredients on hand. I hope their food encourages a large customer base so someday they sell enough margaritas to make them fresh. I also wish I had asked about their outdoor seating. The previous owners did not allow dogs, which was disappointing because we are often commuting back and forth with the dogs. If the patio is dog friendly, we will be back often!

We have gotten takeout from here 4+ times and the food is fantastic! This rainbow margarita is to die for as well! Very friendly service, fast and efficient. Perfect for grab and go weeknight dinners.

All 3 meals were pretty good. Two margaritas were very tasty. Quick friendly service. Chicken and beef in my meal were pretty good. I was expecting the pork to be shredded but it was small cubes and dry. Others had shrimp dishes that they really liked. Presentation of dishes was attractive. Would recommend and return.

The place smells very strongly like an old lady’s perfume, and it made the food taste weird. You couldn’t smell the food being cooked and could barely smell the food even when it was in front of you. The food was kind of weird, too. I had the veggie fajitas (the only vegetarian option on the menu). They had a strange oily red sauce on them, almost like sweet and sour sauce but different (not in a good way). It was also extremely expensive, over $50 just for 2 people to get a meal and a drink each. The staff were super friendly and nice though, and the margaritas we had were tasty.

La Parada is under new ownership and new management and this has been a good change. The food quality now is much better than under the previous owners. Our dinners tonight were delicious. The servings were large and have provided tomorrow’s lunch, too.
I’m not sure why the owners call it “gourmet Mexican” as the menu is standard, but the food was well-prepared and tasted great. We will look forward to returning and trying other dishes on the menu.

Ok I’ve had good service before but today topped it. It was a Monday night but by far the best service I have ever had. The food was great too. We tried a couple things we don’t normally get and things we get all the time and the new and old was up to our standards and better. ( I’m picky too even when it’s good I’ll still find something to critique) If I had to say something down I would say it could use an update but if they dish out food like this I will get past the update. I look forward to going on a more busy night to see how well things go.

Eat local and you wont be disappointed! Excellent customer service. For a Thursday night the whole place was packed and we felt like we had the place to ourselves. Food was served hot and not soggy like some other restraunts… very fresh. Good sized portions as well for the price! Will be back!

My father in law lives 5 minutes away and i always wanted to try the food here. Im glad I chose today to stop in and order food to go! Everything was delicious and in good portions. Not to mention, very friendly staff that looks to please their customers. Ill deffinetely be going back and hope others try it out! La Parada is a hidden gem that anyone looking for good mexican quizine should try out!

Standard mexican without seasoning. Not gourmet at all but the steak was cooked very well which made the dish good. The rest was bland and basic. Not worth the price but would eat again if prices come down.
