The food here is wonderful! My favorites: Garlic shrimp and flour tortilla chips. I used to live in Turlock and this was a favorite restaurant. The food hasn’t changed one bit. The service, however, was pretty crappy. I was there alone and had a waitress promptly. Ordered a beverage right away and that was brought fairly quickly. I ordered my little meal and that was also brought fairly quickly. After that, pretty much crickets. I waited at least another half hour before she came back to check on me. My drink was long gone and I’d been struggling to cut my shrimp with a fork and spoon (why?). Perhaps knives are taken frequently? By the time she got back to me, I’d given up on the shrimp — it was too much work, but as I’d just come from a funeral for a dear friend, I wanted another drink. When she finally returned and asked how everything was, I told her the food was excellent but a knife would have been helpful. I also ordered my drink. Another long wait before that was brought and I asked for the check, but she’d disappeared again. I finished my drink and waited. Around 15 minutes later, she returned with the check and I was out of there.
As I said, the food here is awesome. I guess I got unlucky with the server. At least I hope so! If you go, enjoy the food!!!

La Morenita always delivers in delicious food and wonderful service. My family recently held a luncheon after a funeral service for over 40 guests. Javier and his staff accommodated us in their banquet room and provided such excellent service. The buffet was perfectly curated and set up, and chips and salsa were set on the table ready for guests to munch on. I couldn’t have asked for a better restaurant to host our event. Not to mention, Javier made the whole planning process so easy and seamless. Thank you again La Morenita. We will not go anywhere else for our large parties.

Best service i have had in a long time, ANYWHERE! Waitress came through frequently enough to ensure we were never without anything we desired, she was extremely friendly and prompt with any requests. It had been a couple of years since we had enjoyed a meal here and we will definitely be returning soon.

Only 2 stars because they have friendly servers and their camarones a la diabla were okay. Everything else gets 0 stars. Enchilada: sauce was bland, absolutely no taste. Chicken was dry and tasted old. Beans were salty. And lastly it felt like I was at a taco truck stand sitting on folding chairs. Probably should’ve went to one, I’m sure it would’ve tasted better and for half the price.

I ordered 2 chimichangas to go. And when I got home I realized they only gave me one chimichanga . So I had to drive all the way back while the other chimichanga at home was getting cold I hate when people can’t take orders right. And I repeated the order twice. Smh. They need to get better employees, or train them better. Go here if you like your orders messed up. And they want a tip after messing up the order pfft

Okay where does start is the problem…… The service was ok but it took about 40 minutes to get our food. When we did get it, it looked really good but I was mistaken for sure. The chicken was overcooked and had a really bad taste that almost made me walk out the “asada” if you want to call it that is just a cut-up piece of steak that was so overcooked it was almost unchewable. The rice had a really good flavor but it was really chewy like it was under done. My wife got carnitas chimichangas but all it was inside was bland boiled pork and it did not taste good either. The highlight was the beans and guacamole those were the only items that actually had a good taste to them.
I would not recommend this place if you want real Mexican food or food that is cooked correctly. And as I said before the wait was insane and not worth it by no means. 60 dollars for 2 people? No never again.

Loved the Mexican decor, photos of the Mexican Revolution (Pancho Villa, child Revolutionary, etc.) embedded in the table, faux stained glass partition of Mexican scene and beautiful Day of the Dead Lady greeting me at the entrance. Food was delicious, service excellent and flan to die for!!!!

Coming from LA I have eaten my share of Mexican food. It’s just so different from there. But since I’ve moved to the valley it’s been hard to find a solid Mexican restaurant. Well not anymore. The wedding burrito has to be my favorite thing to eat now. The sauce is amazing..the portions are good and the customer service is kick a**. Hats off to the family that work hard to keep this place going. Support your local restaurants
