We walked in on a Wednesday morning and were absolutely delighted. My husband and I ordered the Chilaquiles while a friend ordered peach French toast and they were delicious.

The ice cream, the corn in a cup, and ice cream bars were delicious. The service was also great and very attentive to what we ordered, and we were a big group ordering. Definitely recommend on a hot sunny day.

7/27/25 Came back today and had the Chicken salad. It was very good but prefer regular lettuce. My fiance had the Elote Corn mayo and cheese. She said it was really good. This place is really good. Highly recommend coming here.

Go here for a great breakfast with no wait! We went here for breakfast when another local restaurant had a 2 hour wait. This place had no wait and an AMAZING Mexican breakfast. I had the eggs with chorizo and that was delicious. The refried beans were super smooth. All of that with rice and a corn tortilla was so satisfying. Everyone else at the table loved their meals too. Plus the restroom is open to customers so it was nice to have a more private restroom before going back out to walk downtown.
All the ice cream and fruit and treats looked so good too. I would totally come back for that.

Went here for breakfast and OMG I’m glad we did! First the restaurant was very clean. Even the table tops and salt and pepper shakers were like smooth and clean. Then the breakfast! Great portions and so very good! We will return to this restaurant!

I cannot speak for the ice cream and such as we came here for breakfast. It is not a bad breakfast, but it’s not terrific either. The folks are nice and the service is good. I recommend skipping the breakfast and coming in for the sweets.

I’ve been to multiple La Michoacana before and this one was just ok since we were in Galena. Food was decent but rice was bland. I shared a mangonada with the hubs and also shared the shrimp fajitas. Many shrimps and good size for $22. I did ask for extra tortillas and asked how much would it be and she said she didn’t know. But stood there. So I asked…if you can please find out if you don’t know? That would surely help. Then she went to ask the price for me. She was probably 13 years old helping the family out. And another little boy was there bussing. I felt like the creepy adult being served by child labor so that made me feel kinda bad. It was also strange to have ice cream on one side of the restaurant and then table next to it for lunch. Would my food gets cold? The little girl also made a mistake and undercharged me for the shrimp fajitas that was $5 less and also didn’t charge me for the tortillas while being busy on the phone. What did I do? I had to tell her about it because again, I felt bad!!!!
My son ordered the kids meal grilled cheese with fries and it was just ok. Unfortunately it was not as good as the La Michoacana in my hometown. There are many restaurants in Galena and I actually felt like I made a mistake with this one 3 stars for the mangonada and shrimp fajitas was actually decent.
