To go order with the main mission of trying some Chicharrones. They serve them on weekends so keep an eye on their social media for reminders. My spouse picked up the food and we ordered extra for leftovers. The Chicharrones are tasty with the skin extra extra crispy and the meat chunks were tasty with some smaller chunks drier but overall would order them again. The guacamole super good in general and goes well with the chicharrones. We ordered tamales which we are saving for tomorrow. The choripollo and chile relleno were good. Lots of other items to try that look delish.

Exceptional, authentic food. Unbelievable tamales, tacos, birria, and service. The employees are fantastic. We stopped after a Hawkeye Football game, Jose and Manuel ensured we had everything we needed. This is now a definite stop for us when visiting Iowa City. Can’t wait to go back.

In town for a funeral and wanted a good Mexican restaurant for dinner during our stay. This restaurant serves authentic Mexican food at reasonable prices. We came from Arizona where we have many options for this cuisine. This restaurant would rank among the top even in that market. Atmosphere was okay and service was great. Felt like the staff really cared about their product and service. I/we highly recommend this restaurant. It is attached to a market but don’t let that stop you from indulging in their superior food and service. Margaritas are good also!

After looking at reviews, we decided to try here today as we were passing through. Amazing food and service. The salsa is the best we have had, the pico was made to order. We will be back to try more things when we are in the area again.

Wonderful food and service. Best al pastor tacos I have ever had and carnitas is excellent with crispy bits and tender pork. Carna asada has perfectly cooked bits that are seared and tender not tough. Everyone enjoyed thwir dinner and we should have bought extra Flan, creammy, yet nicely firm and perfectly carmalized goodness.

The taco salad was great. Ordered with pico. Pico was the best pico I have had in years. Great presentation. Crispy fried shell. Taco plates are also very good. Great value and flavor. Ribeye is flavorful. Megabirrua burrito is huge. Very filling. No regrets over here.

Mexican owned and operated. Delicious! Friendly and quick service. Small mercado attached. Be sure to try all the salsas- red, verde, avocado, mango habañero. It’s become a fav stop to/from Chicago.
