Loved the street tacos and salsa. But we sat next to the fountain and the sound of water unfortunately make you feel like you have to go potty all the time. It is nice but to have tables next to it might be a bit much for some people. Service was fast and awesome.

Food was delicious. Menus were new so prices have increased. Service was terrible. Server appeared to be angry with our party. I asked if we offended him because he didn’t smile at all. He was noncommittal. With the exception of him filling my water, we felt ignored. The evening was not as enjoyable as it could have been.

La Mesa is an Omaha tradition, but I have to admit for awhile the one at 156th & Q wasn’t good and we stopped going. We went back a few months ago and they have fixed the problems. We went again tonight and it was good enough to review. The food was delicious. The service was prompt and friendly. The bar is outstanding. I ordered a personalized mocktail and the balance of flavors was perfect. The housemade tomato salsa they bring with the free chips is saucy with bits of onions and peppers. The chips are pretty standard but with the salsa and an order of their white queso dip – yum. Husband ordered a combination plate of three street tacos. Birria, shredded beef and a shredded chicken one. The birria sauce had a kick. The shells were crunchy, not soggy and didn’t fall apart. The beef one was salty but otherwise delicious. I ordered the chicken tortilla soup and was surprised at the abundance of shredded chicken and chunks of potatoes. Husband ordered flan, because he loves it. It was rich and caramelly. We are so relieved they are good again and look forward to our next meal there.

My family came here to eat while we were in town visiting the Omaha Zoo and Aquarium. The restaurant was nice & clean, but the bathrooms not so much. My family ordered tacos, flautas, burrito, albondigas and they all said the food was ok. Mine lacked flavor in the chicken, but my husband said his dish was flavorful.

Good food and service. They offer a great selection of lunch choices and an excellent selection for dinner. The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming and the staff very friendly. This is a good place for a quick bite for lunch or to relax and enjoy a nice dinner and a drink. They offer a full bar and a good selection of margaritas. Will most definitely eat here again.

Really good Mexican food in Omaha. We went for lunch and it was not busy at all. We had great service but we were also only one of a few tables.
Lunch specials were a good value. Lots of options and prices were great. Lunch came with chips and salsa. No beans but that is OK.
Restaurant is well decorated with bright inviting colors. Overall great experience. We did not have any specialty drinks so I cannot comment on those.

Was impressed with the menu and drink choices. Everyone in our party really liked their food choices. The waiter was great. We went on a non weekend day and did not have to wait but on the weekend, it is busy there. There are booths and table seating available with a nice bar area. There is a decent waiting area which is a bonus.

We’ve been to La Mesa a few times and the food and service is always great. The queso dip is a great appetizer and can be eaten with your entree. We got an enchilada and burrito this time. The rice and beans are unexpectedly delicious – I’d eat them without the entree!

Food was excellent, great atmosphere, great decor. My only complaint is that it took a while to get our food and it was pretty slow at the time we went

This Mexican place is ok. The chips and salsa need help though. Salsa is too watery and has no flavor. The chips are too hard and thick. I ordered the Torta with fries and it was good. The fries were the best part of the whole meal.
