Had a wonderful dinner with the wife at La Matraca Mexican Grill in Delaware Ohio. This is one of the better options to get a great sit-down meal on the East side of town. I had the Pork Carnitas and my wife the Chilaquiles with chicken. Both were excellent choices.
The restaurant is spacious and clean. Service is quick and friendly. The food appeared in a timely manner and was transported to our table by a robot server playing tacky, but fun Mexican music.
The place can get rather loud when busy, so be sure to ask for a booth away from it all, if you are looking for a place for extended conversation.

Where to start? Long story short was charged $170 for 3 beers, 2 regular margaritas, 4 shots of patron, cheese dip, shrimp cocktail, and one plate of tacos. Doesn’t add up… even according to their menu prices. They actually brought out 5-6 guys to make sure I paid.. basically I was strong armed into paying..like seriously bringing out the troops to make sure I pay? I paid and even left a $30 dollar tip. That’s what kind of guy I am verses a struggling restaurant that over charges their customers because they think they’re tipsy? Nah bruh..I was clear headed just paid my bill and left because I didn’t want any issues.. lucky I have Google reviews to share my story so hopefully others won’t be extorted like I was. Silver lining the food was good. Server spoke ZERO English..love the point and nod head approach when ordering food and drinks. Lame. If you’re going to be in America and have a hospitality gig going learn the language please. Will not be back.

If La Matraca has no customers, it’s because I am dead. This place is phenomenal. The food is delicious, and always fast. The service is top notch – every server is so sweet. While I haven’t had a celebration there yet personally, I can say that they truly make celebrations feel like am event. There’s life instruments, song, and huge sparklers! I love this place and will continue to be a regular customer.

Very good place for lunch or dinner. I had tacos de carne asada, the pickled mix was delicious and spicy. The chips were fresh and beer was cold and they had pacifico on tap which was a great surprise. I will be returning

Went for lunch with three others. The restaurant is very clean and we were seated quickly. The waiter was super friendly (he smelled good too) and took care of getting our drinks in a timely manner. Everything we ordered was fantastic; food was hot, seasoned perfectly, fresh and super yummy, drinks were quick, cold and delicious! Prices were comparable to other restaurants in Delaware, Ohio, but, unlike a number of Delaware Ohio restaurants, the food at La Matraca was very delicious!
All in my group stated how much we enjoyed everything at La Matraca and highly recommend. I know I’m going back.

We loved our experience at La Matraca! Our lunch meals were well priced and delicious. The salsa tastes very fresh. When we walked in to be seated I noticed how clean the restaurant was. I’ve never been able to smell how clean a Mexican restaurant is, but here I could. The service was outstanding. Very nice and accommodating staff. We will definitely be back!!

After seeing all the good reviews on this restaurant we decided to give it a try. It did not disappoint, especially with their cocktail menu. The drinks looked beautiful and tasted ok. The food was good but not different from other local Mexican restaurants. The service was nice, the server was attentive and polite

I had high hopes for this place based on reviews, but clearly no one around here has had good mexican food. This has to be some of the worst I’ve ever had. My son had the kids chicken burrito. My daughter had a hot dog(whatever lol) my wife had a burrito and enchilada combo and i had the special dinner. The special dinner says it comes with a taco, burrito, chalupa, and chile rellano. Figured id get a choice between beef steak and chicken but no its ground beef. Comes to the table and instead of a chalupa i get a bean tostada? The ground beef tasted like it was from one of those 99 cent packages at the store. The chile rellano had ground beef in it? Never have i ever had a chile rellano with ground beef. Even asked my hispanic buddies and they have never heard of it. The taco sucked, hard shell with lettuce and a sprinkle of cheese. The salsa was tomato puree. I HATE wasting food, and I couldn’t even finish this sad excuse of “mexican” food. On a positive note the place is really cool, and they have some pretty fancy drinks so it may be worth visiting for that. The service was pretty good very friendly people. Without these, this would have been the easiest 1 star review.

The interior is very cool – we’ll literally, clean, layed out right, great menu, and all the bells. We had fajitas for 2 which was awesome. That part of our experience was really good… The service was horrible – the waiter was a nice guy but he was not the least bit attentive – take the drink order and disappear for 10 minutes, bring the drinks and disappear for 10 minutes, take the food order, somebody brings the food out, and we don’t see him until we are standing at the Check in asking for the bill… really disappointed because there are so many other other good mexican restaurants in the area, you would think that they would be on top of their game.
