La Mariposa is a great place for having dinner. They have several vegetarian options (two burritos, enchiladas, tacos, and some appetizers) and some gluten free options. We had the spinach enchiladas, the veggie burrito and the elotes as an appetizer. Everything here is delicious and tasty but a little bit greasy. And if you like margarita they have ALL of them. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful and the staff is very friendly.

Me and my cousin came after my graduation ceremony from culinary school and definitely enjoyed the food and drinks. Kuddos to chef who made the beans, salsa and corn on the cob because they were fire. I recommend the birria tacos, margaritas and the elote corn on the cob. It’s our first time in denver and this is a place worth visiting for their award winning tacos. The fried ice cream was delicious but I personally didn’t care for the cheesecake but definitely gonna try their churros next time.

Great place. Greeted by a lovely little girl (must have been the daughter of the owner) that sat us at our table. The food was great. The happy hour is 3-6 and the margaritas are $6!!!!! Ordered the nachos that were $12. Pretty good. Had carrots on the nachos, was a vibe tho. They forgot the guac and sour cream tho. No big deal. Definitely worth the $12. Menu is included in my photos

Forgot to grab pictures before we started eating but everything is WONDERFUL. Food is hot & fresh with great flavor. Salsa is great with a nice kick to it. Strawberry mango frozen margaritas were great! The service was phenomenal. If we weren’t from Kansas City here on vacation this would be our go to spot!

First time experience at La Mariposa and on Valentine’s Day too! From the moment we walked in, we knew we were pushing our luck—Valentine’s Day, last-minute plans, no reservation. But the host didn’t even blink when we admitted it, despite his long list. He seated us at the table I had read about in the reviews—the one right by the kitchen door.
To be fair, the door only slammed against our table once all night (shoutout to the manager for that one). But after that, the staff was super mindful, keeping an eye on it so it didn’t bother us. We got a good laugh out of it—they clearly know better by now.
Our waitress, Alicia, was fantastic! Attentive, kind, and thoughtful, she made sure we got our order in just in time to take full advantage of the happy hour menu. She never hovered but was always there right when we needed her.
The food was good—not the most memorable meal we’ve ever had, but we also didn’t order their specialties. We stuck to the happy hour menu since we had already splurged on a babysitter and chocolates for each other. The margaritas were great, and you could tell they put care into how everything was presented.
The one presentation I did feel was lacking was the bathroom. 2 stalls out of order and 1 of 2 sinks too, and it appeared it wasn’t for funsies based on the odor. Not pleasant, but it did the trick. I’m sure it will be fixed soon enough!
The atmosphere was a nice balance of spacious yet cozy—I don’t know how they pull that off, but they do.
We’ll definitely be back. Thanks, Alicia!

These margaritas are picture worthy! They are a bit weak, but a fun choice for sure! The food tasted great! Portions a tad on the small side though. Prices were fair and the atmosphere and service was great!

Pretty restaurant inside. They have a bar too. Prices are good. The food is not bad. Not too authentic but good. Except my pile of beans was pretty small. Like 2 cm high. The service is good.

Been meaning to try this place out for a while. First off, insane happy hour. Great prices. Service was friendly but I couldn’t pay out for a great while and had to ask to close. The menu is very large. Probably the largest, silly-fun drink menu I’ve ever seen so if you’re in the market for that… go here. Food was incredibly underwhelming. Did not like anything I ordered, but again, prices are good. Interior is old and pretty crusty. Could definitely use a revamp all around. I judge Mexican food off the tamales and this one was actually bad and absolutely swimming in chili.

Such amazing food! I did not know what to expect being from Texas but I was pleasantly surprised that the Mexican food here is better than anything we have back home. They have such an extensive menu that I was worried nothing would be good. Quite the contrary! Everything was outstanding! Exceptional service made it a perfect meal.
