Our family went out to celebrate my granddaughter’s birthday. We called ahead to have pizzas ready when we arrived, so we didn’t have to wait with several young kids in tow. The pizzas were ready, staff was waiting for us, and we were able to dig in right away. WOW! That is great pizza! We got four different types, large size, and ate almost all of them. The crusts were all medium thickness with a nice crispy bottom. All of the flavors were delicious. The staff were attentive without being intrusive. We brought a sheet cake to celebrate the birthday, and the waiters gave us extra plates and utensils. We’ll definitely be going back to Mamma Roma!

This place is the best. My family relocated here from the Northeast and feel at home at this restaurant. We haven’t found pizza like back home in this area with the exception of Mama Roma. The pizza is the best around and all the pasta dinners we have had (and we have had a lot) have been top notch. The food comes out timely and hot. The wait staff is great and the owner makes us feel like we are back home as well. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone.

This place used to be wonderful some years ago. We went back a week or so ago after being away for five years and it was awful.
The dish I used to order, which I ordered again, used to be cooked with this amazing olive oil that I will probably never find anywhere. This time I could taste the cheap gritty butter and cheap olive oil they now use. The sliced, toasted garlic bread it was supposed to come with was replaced with (over)microwaved garlic knots.
Where did the previous owners and chefs go?!

We come here a few times a month and we love this place! The pizza is hand tossed and cooked in a brick oven…very much a New York/New Jersey style of pizza. The meals are all generous portions and delicious…no one in my family has found something they didn’t like. The bread is made fresh onsite and the garlic bread is awesome…my kids usually eat it all before my wife and I get any. The staff is friendly and courteous…my favorite place to eat in Southern Maryland.

Since new management has taken over it is not the same. Customer service and food quality has really gone down. The last few times I’ve gine there for a pizza (even tough I have ordered the same thing each time), the pizza come out different each time and are very skimpy on the toppings. I so appreciated when previous owner was there because he kept things managed well and food was great! However now things have changed for the worst. Think I may just take a ride out to Odenton location the next time I want a good pizza, because the Brandywine location just isn’t doing the job.

I have been a customer for YEARS and never have experienced such horrible service from Mamma Roma. A good 40 minutes after having called in my simple order (cheesesteak and fries) and sitting for half that time with my hungry four year old, they realized my order never got put in…still waited a full 20 more minutes without barely an apology before getting my order. The young lady who worked there was their only saving grace as she was the only one who seemed genuinely sorry.
Then…I get home (5 minutes away mind you) and my fries are cold and limp and not seasoned the way they used to be). Seem to have gone downhill since the founder sold it…shame…
Needless to say, they have lost good customers tonight 🙁

Mamma Roma’s makes real pizza and it’s great. Clearly, they make their own dough and know what they’re doing. This is the the best I’ve had in a very long time. The crust is chewy on top and crisp on the bottom – real New York style. The staff was friendly. While I waited, the host told me by pizza was taking a little longer than expected and so he gave me a salad while I waited. They also have bottles of beer including an interesting Italian “dopplebock” (double bock) beer that was a good combo for the pizza. The other people in the restaurant were remarking on how good the food was and complementing the host.

First time customer. Stoped in after work on the way home. The service was great. ! Loved the setting total NY style. I ordered the Sausage roll Calzone and it was enormous and delicious! Will be there again shortly!

This place is SO good! I live in Alexandria, VA and I drive 1/2 hour to get here, because it’s heads and shoulders above anything I can get in Old Town. In fact, in all honesty most of the Restaurants in Old Town are overpriced and not that great. But getting back to point, Mamma Roma’s Chicken Parm, and Lemon Shrimp are phenomenal. I haven’t tried other dishes yet, but the Lemon Shrimp is so ridiculously good, it’s the best meal I’ve had in weeks. The garlic bread is phenomenal, the garlic knots are phenomenal, everything is PHENOMENAL. The chief is authentic, he’s really Italian. This place is a gem! The few negative reviews I see on here are asking WAY too much of any restaurant.

I got a salad and pizza. The food was great. But immediately after leaving I didn’t feel well… Sure enough, I have had food poisoning for the past 2 days now from this place. I never want to be this sick again, so I would never go back. They must not have washed the lettuce or vegetables correctly.
