Well, we order like the other places, when we finished ordering we tried to look for tables but then the tables was dirty, like half of the place was full of dirty tables, so we told someone to clean it up and she just took the plates away and didn’t even wipe the table with disinfectant wipes or smth. We sat down and had to wait for a good 10-25 minutes for our food, the place wasn’t even that full to be waiting for 10-25 minutes. Then she brought our food one by one, meaning we had to wait another 10 minutes for everyone to get their food. The waiters don’t have the knowledge to be a waitress, with all due to respect, the others Madeline was better.

I went here with my parents on a holiday weekend in 2026 because their first choice was packed. We were welcomed with great counter service, followed by a relatively quick delivery of delicious food. I probably had a sausage, egg and cheese sandwich on a croissant.

I will be returning later today to pick up a Bonjour Bag using the To Good To Go app. I was pleasantly surprised to find la Madeneine available there.

My favorite place to eat every time I visit my daughter in Virginia. This is always the first stop I make when I visit. My favorite dish is the French Country breakfast. The staff remembers me every time I come back. Almost like seeing family again. I highly recommend trying la Madeleine at least once and I guarantee you will be hooked just like me. ☕️ ☕️

Such a cute place! We look forward to weekends to pop into La Madeleine’s after morning errands. It’s really charming and cozy, and the food is always so yummy and filling. Nothing better than sitting by the cobblestone fireplace with a warm coffee and chatting with a friend/loved one, getting some work done, or reading your book.

Only downside is the service, which can be spotty. I don’t think I’ve ever had a great costumer service experience here. But I don’t go here to be chatted up and I don’t mind just ordering and being done with interactions.. but there have been times where the people cleaning the bathroom (because one of the two is out of service), is chatting on the phone while we wait to use it (over ten minutes), or the don’t get our order correct and when we inform them that we only received one of the two things ordered, the manager comes out and tells us we didn’t pay?? Which isn’t a big deal but the interaction feels kinda weird.

Go for the cuteness and yummy food, just bring headphones if you go alone so you don’t feel so awkward when interacting with employees.. and don’t drink a bunch of coffee because you may have to wait for the bathroom.

Nice variety of pastries, cakes, and other baked stuff. Staff is friendly. Not cheap but not expensive. Nutella croissant muffin was pretty good.

I just love La Madeline! I have my favorites and i love being able to order a box of amazing baked goods when entertaining guests for the weekend. Their sandwiches are incredible and I love all the seasonal updates to the menu! I’ve also never had such amazing rewards for signing up! I just got a box of free macarons!! I’ve had free baked goods and $10 off an order! Very impressed and the staff and manager of this shop are very kind and professional! They’re always my go to for good or bad days 🙂

This was our first experience at a ‘French’ restaurant. We did not like the way we ordered food in a type of service line. I’m not sure if this was a French thing or not. That said, it was well worth dealing with to get the food. Amazing. We had the Chicken Codon Blue pasta, French dip, and a sandwich salad option my wife got. Everything tasted amazing, even the Mango tea and cream Brule. And the prices were reasonable.

I used to go to La Madeleine religiously every Sunday back when I lived in Texas. It was my weekly ritual, breakfast in the morning, then dinner later in the day with their pasta and salmon, good cheesecakes , Andrea Bocelli playing in the background. The food, the service, the atmosphere — everything used to be warm, comforting, and distinctly French.

Fast-forward seven or eight years. I’ve just visited the La Madeleine here in Virginia for the first time since my El Paso days, and sadly, it’s nothing like the place I remember. The pastry case selection was embarrassing, and you could see the whole ktchen, you could see how little was actually being made fresh. The ambience was decent, the fireplace was on, and the music wasn’t bad — but that’s where the positives end.

The food was incredibly dry, clearly made with low-quality or frozen ingredients. You could taste the shortcuts — even the bread had that artificial flavor that comes from a long list of preservatives instead of the simple, four-ingredient recipe bread should have. Nothing tasted fresh or made with care.

It feels like La Madeleine has lost the charm and authenticity that once made it special. What used to feel like a cozy French café now tastes like a frozen-food cafeteria. Very disappointing for someone who used to love this place.

Honestly disappointed with La Madeleine. I was so excited to try this one since I had it in Texas. I ordered 2 drinks, 2 mains, a side and a dessert. They only bought me the 2 mains and the side. No drinks or dessert. It was early morning (before 10am) but the food was cold as if it had been out for a while (e.g. the cheese was not melted on the sandwich). The food was just okay, nothing special.

The waitress looked like she didn’t want to be there at all. Also, the restaurant was ALMOST empty. So this is the service with few people.

After waiting for a while I went up to the counter about the drinks and dessert and she gave me one drink. Then I had to ask for the other drink and she gave it to me. Then I had to ask for the dessert and she gave me the wrong one. Then I asked for the correct dessert and it seemed like she didn’t even know what was on their menu. Another woman had to show her the correct one.

The drinks were not made correctly and I bought a side of avocado with my main which was missing (paid $2 for it), but I was just done with going back and forth that I left it.

Their customer service is not good and it is as if no one knew my order. I had to keep saying it. Even when she was making the coffee, she was asking me what type of coffee and what to add.

Servers can be rude and give you a lot of attitude. Mine took her sweet time taking my order, bringing my order, and didn’t consider bringing utensils with the dish. Interesting. I go there because of the ambience and food, but the experience with that individual was so unnecessary. Ruined things for a while.
