A charming restaurant with great service. We shared a caprese salad with avocado. Very fresh. I had the special of venison tortellini with goat cheese mousse and an orange sauce. My partner has a risotto with Italian sausage that was an ultimate comfort food. The dessert Coopa Alaska which was good for sharing. Our wine and cocktails were all very nice

The La Lanterna brand is held in lofty esteem in Glasgows culinary circles so I had high hopes in trying a fairly affordable lunch deal.
The restaurant itself is quite small and decorated with a simple Mediterranean charm. Bright and airy it feels intimate and upmarket. Location on Great Western Road is a nice compromise between Central and Byres Road.
The food was hearty and flavourful. Rich tomato, fresh and wholesome. At £17.95 for two courses it was good value too.
However, if coming again I would opt for an evening meal as it just felt like it wasn’t in full flow and more going through the motions. The warm up if you will. Missing the X factor of a little buzz or exceptional service to elevate it to a full five star experience on this occasion. Quasi!!!

Nice enough restaurant. Servers were lovely and very efficient. We were downstairs which I found ok but tables very small! Food was nice although found the sauce in mine very salty and my husband’s chicken was overcooked allbround the edges.

First time visit and it didn’t disappoint. The restaurant was quiet on a Monday lunchtime. The staff were lovely and took us through the various menus on offer. The food was delicious especially the prawn salad. The wine of the month was very drinkable.

Been here twice and both times were 10/10 for the food, service, atmosphere and just everything in general. Definitely my favourite restaurant to dine in the west end. Came today for my 21st birthday and the staff were lovely and very accommodating. The starter, main and dessert I had were total perfection and the drinks were great also, especially the strawberry margarita

This is a VERY LOUD restaurant. Its pretty small as well. We were seated right next to the till so we constantly had one or two members of staff standing there, leaning on our table with their bottoms literally in our meal. Theres also a strip of velcro on the side of the till that constantly sticks to your clothes. It ruined my jumper. This is not a relaxing atmosphere at all. The food was decent but we didnt stick around for desserts as the table and atmosphere was so uncomfortable. Since we were right next to the till, the service was very fast.

Poor organisation, unprofessional staff, blame-shifting management, and zero empathy for customers who had planned ahead and travelled far.
Despite a confirmed phone booking for 18:30, we were told there was no record upon arrival. The manager, dressed unprofessionally, dismissed our evidence and blamed us for the error, suggesting we “booked the wrong day” (no booking existed in their system at all).
We were offered a table 45 minutes later, forced to wait outside in the rain with no guidance on where to go. When asked about compensation for the major inconvenience, she refused outright. We returned at the new time, only to wait another 20 minutes.
No proper apology was given at any stage, not even a token gesture. The food was mediocre. We will certainly not return, and I advise others to think twice before booking here.
