This place makes great tacos. The ono tacos are just amazing. I grew up in Southern California, so I’ve had my fair share of great Mexican food and this boss lady is making top notch food. I love it. My wife loves it. My kids love it and they don’t like anything! Great stuff.

Decided to try this place out… was really disappointed. Their food looks nothing like the images they posted on their FB page or website… maybe the tres leches cake, but not everything else.
Their carne asada definitely tasted more like shredded/stewed beef than grilled steak. Super big let-down. Really disappointing.
And I’m pretty sure they gave me a regular quesadilla instead of the grande I ordered. Nonetheless, the quesadilla and burritos really lacked in flavor.
And the milk poured on the tres leches cake was close to condensed milk in its original state– was expecting it to be light like all other tres leches cakes I’ve had (and its my favorite cake!). Flavor was all right…. cake was a tad bit dense. Reviews or posts praise the whipped cream and cinnamon, but what good are those if the milk (that makes it “tres leches”) is off??
My husband had their churros and said he’ll stick with Cozmic Kones or even Jack in the Box next time. Their saving grace was the dip. But ultimately they just missed the mark for him. Ran more on the dry/dense side than they should… kind of like they were days old maybe?
Their carnitas tacos were pretty good though. Thumbs up there.
I’m guessing their review ratings are so high because there aren’t alot of mexican food options around here; and people don’t really have a good baseline for comparison.
Nice people; but would we buy their food again? No, thank you. We’re one and done. And mind you, we basically ordered everything on their menu to try out. They’re not bad… mediocre at best; again, we won’t be stopping to spend on their food again. Sadly, everything was forgettable.
Pancho’s taco truck is definitely the best around here if you’re craving mexican, imo.

Found this on the way to kalapana, they were parked up in a lot and looking real good. Had the fish burrito and it was absolutely amazing! Everything was well prepared and tasted great, definitely hit the spot after all the adventure this island has to offer. One of the best things I have eaten on my first week ever in Hawaii. You could spend a lot of money elsewhere for food that just isn’t as good as this. Super friendly people, super amazing food. Thank you

We stopped here for lunch and it was great! This is a lunch wagon (food truck) so no indoor dining but the food was so ono. We tried the fish tacos and pork burrito grande. More than enough food and good prices.

Best fish tacos we’ve had on the island. Large pieces of lightly battered ono with fresh cabbage and a delicious sauce. The fish burrito probably could have fed two, but I was in vacation mode and it was just too good to put down. My only complaint was that it was hard to identify the stand from the road. Find this place and you won’t be disappointed!

Our favorite taco stand on the island! Amazing burritos and street style tacos! Ono fish tacos are a fav meal. Large portions. Burrito Grande is easy two meals. And the owners are the best. So friendly and warm hearted. Great people and food all the way around!

I got the taco plate with 1 carnitas, 1 carne asada & 1 special taco which was fish. The carnitas & fish tacos were my favorite – definitely recommend getting those!
My friend got the carnitas burrito and it was yummy! Delicious meat and the ingredients all meshed well together. Would’ve been even better adding salsa to it which is what comes with the tacos.
