When Jesus Ayala came to the United States from San Jose de la Paz, Jalisco, he came with a dream that his family owned estilo de casa (homestyle) Mexican restaurant would grow. Two and a half decades later, Antonio Ayala has come to create his father’s dream to own and operate one of the most well-known and successful brand of Mexican restaurants in the south-eastern United States. The original La Hacienda (The Ranch), was established in Greenwood, SC. Over the years, strict attention and dedication has gone in to each restaurant to ensure that La Hacienda always provides a truly special Mexican dining experience.

Wow, what an incredible experience at La Hacienda Mexican Restaurant! It had been a few years since my last visit, and I was blown away by the stunning remodel and vibrant new decor. The atmosphere is inviting and full of charm—perfect for a fun night out or a cozy family dinner. The food was absolutely delicious, bursting with authentic flavors that reminded me why this place is a local gem. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. I’m already looking forward to my next visit to this beautifully revamped spot. If you’re craving amazing Mexican cuisine in a fantastic setting, La Hacienda is a must-visit!

The new renovation is absolutely stunning. However the beautiful building was quickly pampered by the lack of service and decline in food quality. This is our all time favorite spot to eat each time we come to Commerce. The service in the past was always top notch, and the food has never disappointed until today. The food was cooked incorrectly, and we didn’t even get our drinks refilled the entire meal. Only half a tiny bowl of salsa for 3 people to share….. They werent even that busy and they sat us by a very loud drunk party who we could barely hear ourselves think over. Only one bathroom of 3 worked…. no toilet paper at all in the bathroom, even in the out of order stalls. The server told us a total, and then said oops I forgot to add the cheese dip- which he rang in as something random, and then told us a whole different total. Not a good experience we probably will try the new Mexican near Tanger next time.

Place is very clean, I was greeted and sat as soon as I walked in. I ordered the Tamale Trio plate with street corn on the side. Both did not disappoint me.

this place was a pleasant surprise. . . the restaurant itself stood out as nice and modern, super clean and very lively. The staff was very friendly and the food was really good.

It wasn’t busy when we entered the restaurant so there was no wait tome. The waiter was nice, although he was the only waiter on the floor, so we had to request drink refills, not a big deal at all. The food was okay, I’ve had better and I’ve had worse. The beans were sour tasting, but I’m not sure if that was intentional due to the recipe. They have decent lunch specials, and the cheese dip was good. They didn’t fill it up to the top, so I was disappointed since it was $12 for a large cheese dip.

The food was decent and the atmosphere was nice. The service however was lacking. The wrong food was received for my kids and the waiter was barely seen. When we tried to get the correct order for them, the waiter dropped the food at the table and immediately left, only taking care of one but not both of the incorrect orders. My wife burrito had the wrong meat. My teenager’s quesadilla was swimming in grease and lacked any cheese.

First the service was slow and the server acted as if we were not there and we had to flag him down the whole meal for things we needed even though the restaurant was slow. The food was severely over cooked and uneatable and basically a chocking hazard…we asked if only the meat could be taken off the bill bc we could not eat it the sever then left and did not come back until we had to flag him down again for the bill that still had the meat on it! When asked why he said the manager was not there and could not be reached. Also when paying the bill we saw 18% gratuitie which we feel was not deserved bc the service was not up to par and that is probably why the service was not good bc the servers know they will get a tip no matter what. Yes I do believe in tipping but only when it is for good service. Also when we had a complaint about the meat the server walked off smiling as if it was funny. I would not eat here again ever and I don’t recommend anyone else eat there either.

This was our first time at this location and it was a wonderful experience. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and very clean.
The food was great. The cheese dip was thick and not watered down like most restaurants. The chicken fajitas were hot and tasty. Plenty of extra to bring home for another meal.
Our waitress was very nice and the service was quick.
We’ll be going back!

Before the remodel La Ha used to be our go-to place. They were 10/10 consistently. But ever since then they just… suck. They skimp on portion sizes— We placed an online takeout order and there was only a tiny sliver of beans in my rice-and-beans, my GF paid extra for cheese sauce and they just ignored it. She also got elote and there’s barely any cream or seasoning on it. The veggie quesadilla used to be massive but now it’s tiny but still the same price. In general they seem to make more mistakes now even when it’s not busy. We won’t be returning anymore unfortunately. We will miss you La Ha.
