My go-to McGregor food spot. Their birria is delicious. They have a full liquor license. The bathroom is clean. They serve strong margaritas. You never have to wait to be seated. Only thing that would them better is to have a good bar. It’s all tables.

While in McGregor, The Coffee Shop had a line so I went with my second choice at the Mexican place across the street.
When I was last here a few years ago, it was called El Rey. Now, it’s La Hacienda Mexican Grill. What a wonderful find!
Everything was superb! I was about worried when they asked, “Did you just come in?” It seems they didn’t see a 300 pound woman walking across their dining room to take a table. Ha!
The service was impeccable after that. My young server was so sweet. Her name is Estrellita and the had a long braid down her back.
The iced tea was so delicious and refreshing. You’d think that would be a given since tea is so easy to make. It’s not. I had Tortilla Soup. So flavorful with a generous amount of shredded chicken and perfectly ripe avocado on top. The shrimp céviché tostada was amazing. Valentina is my new favorite hot sauce. It was just too much food, so I’m taking most of that with me.
I didn’t indulge in chips and salsa. The salsa was good, but thinner than I prefer. I just don’t have the room for it any more. Probably for the best.
As I’m about to leave, the place is almost full. It was out about 1/3 full now. I guess church let out.

After trying this location multiple times, including the drive through, I will say…. The food here is good, but the customer service here is awful!! The wait staff is so rude and unhappy! Definitely a reflection of management. We have started going to their location in Gatesville TX. The food is better and the wait staff/ management is exceptional! The McGregor location needs to take some lessons from the Gatesville location.. If you don’t like your job, find a new one! It takes less muscle to smile…. Just saying!

Drive thru was nice but food quality sucked. Spent $200 on multiple meals and 3 out of 4 had hair in them. Called to correct the issue and they wanted to bring back the meals… We live in a different town and should not have to drive back to McGregor to get it corrected tonight when we are settled, ready for bed for school and work tomorrow. We are very disappointed in this experience tonight! Marybell was manager for the night.

Went in for Happy Hour, never got it, and the girl never offered it, got margaritas. They were good, $8.99 a piece. If you miss the signs, you miss the deal. The waitress (they weren’t that busy) looked down all the time, like she didn’t want to see someone who needed assistance. Overall, the experience did not invite me back. Go elsewhere, a lot of better places, with better service, great happy hours, and great food. You won’t get it here.

The food is plentiful and really good. We had their Hacienda Nachos and they were great! Steak and chicken.
Tacos are loaded and the ground beef was good, not heavily seasoned. Great chips and hot sauce! Slow service. One girl pretty much worked the whole room. She did a good job!
