My name is Lorena and my family started La Hacienda Family Mexican Restaurant in 1990. Our first restaurant opened in Washington State and is still operating. The family has opened many restaurants in that state since then and three are still open. My dad, Ruben Sahagun, was born in Cuautla, Jalisco, Mexico. The small community is about 2 hours from Guadalajara, which has a ranch where my dad was born. The ranch was named La Hacienda de Abajo. It was not a very big ranch, but they have cattle and a river runs through the land. I still visit that ranch about once a year and I love to visit the area that gave us its name.
Mexican standards, salads & seafood are offered with margaritas in a colorful setting.

Second time here in a month for happy hour and there’s a lot to be said for this place. The food tends to be a little on the greasy side but what’s not to love. Margaritas are very good. The happy hour food menu is limited but the prices on the regular menu are good. The menu is varied with lots of Mexican options. Tawny was a great server and their team works together so well as a coordinated unit. Don’t miss the sopapillas for desert, they are out of this world. Also the place is sparkling clean. There was a wait for tables when we left so it’s a popular neighborhood spot.

We really enjoyed our food. My husband got the mole burrito and I got the supreme nachos. They were both very fresh and yummy. We will definitely return to try other things on the menu.

Very nice Mexican food overall. I will say they have the best refried beans I have had in years. This is a very busy and popular place so you will wait for a table. They do not take advanced reservations. Service was fast and the food was tasty. You will not be dissapointed.

First time here. The food was very good as was the service. The atmosphere had its pros (views) and cons (relatively small, crowded space with tables close together and a bit loud). It was the best Mexican food we’ve had in Oro Valley so we will be return customers. It was quite busy after 4:30 so I suggest getting there early. They were also doing lots of take-out business.

Whoa, I’ve been dining here for over 10 years. Food is delicious. You guys raised your prices, which i understand, but for heaven’s sake you cut the portions in half. Yesterday I had lunch with friends and was shocked at the portion size. I had a regular combo plate, which I’ve ordered 100’s of times. Honestly I had maybe 1 tablespoon of beans, 1 peace of shredded beef in my skimpy tacos. Come on guys, you raised the prices and cut ✂️ portions. Well, for the first time in my life, I left a mexican restaurant hungry. No, I didn’t complain due to the fact I had brought new people there. Still love this place, you just have to eat before you come
