Inspired by New Orleans’s stimulating cuisine and our love for cooking, we dreamed of bringing our delicious South American empanadas to town. Empanola was born in 2017, allowing us to see our project manifest. Bringing to our customers Latin-inspired, Louisiana-influenced, and lots of vegetarian flavors. Since then we have been a local favorite. We hope you enjoy them anytime and everywhere!

Empanola was such a fun and flavorful stop in New Orleans. The shop felt bright and casual, with a grab-and-go energy that made it easy to pop in for a quick bite.

I tried a couple of empanadas — one savory and one sweet — and both were packed with flavor. The crust was golden and flaky, with just the right amount of crisp on the outside. The fillings were well-seasoned and satisfying without being too heavy.

Overall, it’s a simple concept done really well. Perfect for a quick snack while exploring the city — tasty, convenient, and full of personality.

We ordered the NOLA empanadas, we loved the crawfish, muffuletta and the shrimp and cheese. Crispy, crunchy and savory. We didn’t like the gumbo empanadas it was a little bland. The chimichurri was fantastic(definitely recommend) and the creamy lime sauce was good too.

First time is a charm? We had the pleasure of having a snack here. Two great ladies served us a perfect set of empanadas with chimi. After being in Argentina for a few weeks, it was a treat!

Busy and a little wait. There’s not much seating inside. Cute shop. Great food. Seems very popular. Just happened to pass by.

Is it possible to love empanadas anymore than we do? It’s an amazing meat pie w/ amazing deep flavors. Empanola makes many different flavors & everyone of them is delicious. We loved them while they were in Auction House, we love them at Freret, and we’ll love them on Magazine. This time we got their Shrimp & Cheese, Spinach & Artichoke, Beef Argentina, Gumbo, Crawfish Etoufee, & Banana Fosters. Each came w/ some delicious sauces: Salsa Verde, Salsa Roja, and a sweet chocolate dip for the Banana Fosters

PS: it’s so cute that they stamp their empanadas w/ the fillings 🙂

Several different kinds of empanadas. I had the Yellow Curry, Gumbo, Breakfast, and Chicken Peruvian. The Gumbo was my favorite! My gf got the banana foster empanada which she loved. The Tres Leches was my favorite part, it was delicious.

I had a great experience with the two foods I got, but my friend got the bananas foster and when she bit into it, it was full of apples, cinnamon, and pecans. We told the lady working that it must have been labeled wrong, but she said no that’s just what bananas foster is. They were also selling apple pecan empanadas, so we know it got accidentally labeled. My friend is allergic to cinnamon, and now is having to receive treatment for her swelled tongue. Mistakes happen, but they should have owned up to their mistakes. Disappointed.
