Pupusas are deceptively simple, seemingly hard to screw up. Guanaquita #3 has the STANDARD for a properly cooked pupusa; perfectly shaped, perfect cheesy goo factor, precise grilling of the outside, and firm tortilla outside.
The prices feel a bit steep, but -despite fairly small portions for their dishes- you are getting a good amount of portions of dishes on their large platters.
I would suggest this spot for brunch, or early dinner.

This place is delicious and affordable! Their pupusas, rice, and beans are amazing and clearly a staple. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Definitely one of my new favorite spots

Small quite place serving Salvadoran and Mexican food. Fast friendly service. I love the papusa and sopes. Mole chicken was also very good.

The Salvadoran food is good but the Mexican is very mediocre. There was only two tables in the whole restaurant and the service was not good. They are not very friendly and seemed like we were bothering them every time we asked for something.

The host was great. We sat down for a drink and ordered to go. I do like the atmosphere of the restaurant and the staff was very nice. The food was delicious. I got 5 mixed papusa’ and grabbed a chorizo papusa as well. The pretty lady grabbed some papusa’ and pollo tacos.

My husband and I were visiting Indianapolis and we wanted a place to eat when we happened to see this unassuming little restaurant. We were the first in for lunch but it quickly filled up with customers. Very friendly ppl and traditional delicious food. We loved it. For those that like deserts made out of corn, I recommend the atole de elote. It’s to die for. Being from Brazil, I’d say the alote reminds me of canjica de milho. Wonderful!

I have eaten here at least 3 times since they opened, both dine in and take out. I would recommend any of the Salvadoran dishes, especially the tamales, empanadas, and pupusas. Prices are more than fair for the quality you get. I used to drive across the city to another Guanaquita location and am now spoiled by a closer location.
If you’ve not had Salvadoran food before, I’d suggest ordering the Guanaco dish to share as a sampler (I eat it all by myself). The corn-based atol de elote hot drink is very nice on a cold day and not too sweet.
They also open early enough for breakfast.
