Quality is bad now. Used to be great, I ate there for almost a decade.
Since like April or May 2025, they serve you fat instead of meat. We order the same thing for years – pork tacos. One order should be meat only, the other is meat with fresh onion and cilantro. Now, it’s just rubbery lard and no meat. Here are the pictures from tonight’s dinner (July 2025). See the rubber for yourself – that’s all fat.

I have frequented this Summer Avenue location many times over the past two decades, and it is easily one of the most consistent, authentic and affordable restaurants in the city.
The photos I’ve included feature the Burrito lunch special. Along with being filling and delicious, the entire experience was under $15, even with a 50% tip. It would be hard to top this quality, quantity and price point in a full-service restaurant. Highly recommended.

Out shopping and on the way home, Googled “Mexican” food on Summer Ave. Got several places, but we never heard of La Guadalapana, so we thought we’d give it a shot.
My wife had the Burrito Dinner al pastor, and I had the Burrito Suiza Pollo. Beans are very thin and I barely could eat them. Rice was OK, though honestly, I’m not a big rice guy. My wife loved her Burrito. Mine was pretty good. They were pretty large so we each took half a burrito home.
Service left something to be desired, virtually ignored, even at 2 30 and the place only 1/4 full. Every time someone entered the front door, the alarm sounded”front door open”. I’m sure they do a good business. It’s just not on my list of places to revisit.

Great place for Fajitas for sure. This is one of my go tos when I want Mexican. Great food wonderful and friendly waitresses and reasonable prices as well as a wide open dining room and a cool little Mexican vibe.

Had the beef tongue tacos. Granted that weren’t as good as Mi Mexico on Shelby but they’re still good. But the beef soup and chicken chimichanga…yesssss! I learned my lesson and took the soup home. Chimichanga was for my wife.

Have always loved coming to eat here! Moved into a new area of town and haven’t been able to come back for a few months but everything is delicious as always. Pictured here are the chicken super nachos, a goat taco, tongue taco, and fish taco. Corn tortillas are made fresh in the restaurant!
